Question Water Pump Leak?

I was changing my oil today and when I was under there, I noticed a couple of drops of antifreeze dripping down the block. I have been smelling AF for a few days now but I checked all the hoses and there hasn't been any puddles under the rig. From what I can see it looks like its dripping down from behind the large pulley on the block. My jeep is an '06 that just turned 37K miles. 1.Could this be the water pump? 2.Is it an easy job if it is? 3. Anyone have any input and/or write up on the replacement? Thanks in advance.

Re: Water Pump Leak?

On my 5.7 it was the rubber thermostat gasket gone bad, causing it to leak at the flange on the water pump where the upper hose connects.
Twenty minutes and $25.00 for a new thermostat fixed my leak.

Re: Water Pump Leak?

Checked the t stat and gasket. all is good with both. still leaning towards the water pump. it is such a small leak...its very hard to tell where it is exactly coming from. Guess I have a weekend project next week.
