how do you compare.........~5500 for a vortech, 1 K install and you run 11.7-11.5 all day.

Thanks,
Well, yes, I see them around $5600 and up for satin finished unit. Most of these are running around the 12 second mark, youngmedic seems to have the freak setup as far as track times.

How do I compare, well, first off, you are comparing apples to oranges in a sense just due to what it takes to install a turbo. Plus, the systems come with far different components.

But, both our MSRP's are almost exactly the same around $6,195.00, and with our current specials ($500 off plus additional $200 off for JG members), I am priced at $5,495.00 for the complete kit.

Normal install runs about 1K as well.

A big part of it is what you want in a system, from an owner control standpoint, a turbo can not be beat. A turbo is going to behave differently than a supercharger will on the street and on the track.

Which is better, hard to say, they both shine in their own ways.

Thanks Tim. They sure are about the same in price and numbers. I see Mac is just getting going so I look forward to seeing his numbers. I didnt realize it was his Jeep you were showing.

I didnt mean to put you on the spot sSC vs Turbo, of course they both have their advantages and downsides.

I also just learned this is one where the owner installed it himself. Now that is freaking HUGE if this is something you can get installed in a weekend in the driveway. DANG.

Pretty Dang AWESOME

Yes, Mac installed his himself pretty much over a weekend, with an extra hand definitely in a weekend. That included him installing the iEMS3 as well.

Both the 5.7 and 6.1 versions are designed to be installed by someone with basic wrenching skills, just take your time and follow the instructions.

Keep in mind, that when I ship you a kit, it is complete, you don't have to go out and buy options or other stuff unless you have some special hardware or something you want to use.

With the iEMS3 we have base files that are loaded and the vehicle will start right up and go, with a few datalogs it is easy to tweak for a particular vehicle, and once understood how it works, this can be done directly by the owner as well with the supplied software.

You have to experience one to truly grasp how well FI can be integrated in with the factory systems. I drive mine all the time just as it was factory, and I never have to worry about part throttle boost, and we never see any knock retard.

Is that with the iEMS3, or does that tack on another $1,000+?

No, the iEMS3 is optional as some will opt for a CMR tune, although of late everyone has opted for the iEMS3.

Most people already have a Predator so we dropped that some time ago.

Re: NEW Turbo SRT-8 Cherokee Video

Hello everyone, the jeep in the vid is mine. We will have another vid by the middle of next week which will be much better and will include a dyno video and 1/4 mile times. I ran in the 1/8 and ran 3 runs in the 7.8 and one 7.9. We backed off on the meth injection cause I was getting a misfire from too much meth.

But even with misfires from the spark going out cause of the excess meth I ran those times. After 3 runs back to back hot lapped, my intake temps were 140 degrees and I have not seen them go over that even after prolonged 150mph WOT runs. I have been monitoring knock at all times since the system was installed and have not seen any knock retard at all.

Judging by the way its running now with the tweeks we did in the IEMS3 the numbers should be pretty impresive. As far as the install, it took me 2 days with a bunch of interuptions for family duties. If I would have had a helping hand I would have had it installed in a day and a half. The instructions are easy to understand and step by step with ALOT of pictures (I love pictures lol).

The IEMS3 is simply amazing in terms of the control I have over basically everything when I'm in boost. I have control over boost, timing, fuel, and meth and all it takes to change my tune is to program a new smart card with my new tune and insert it in the IEMS3 and the tune loads in real time in 2 seconds. So I can have 100 different tunes if I want.

Since I have been running the turbo I haven't had a single problem. I'm contantly checking and rechecking everything and so far its exceeding my expectations x10. I don't know how I would stack up to a Vortech performance wise but I feel that this system is better long term in regards to drivetrain. I think the Vortech really puts a heavy strain on our tranny and transfer case. The vortech runs 8-8.5 psi (and I'm sure it spikes higher than that). Also, I have instant fuel correction at part throttle boost. With a CMR or the Vortech tune you don't get that so you can be part throttle in boost at 14.7afr!!!! The IEMS3 takes care of that for me. At part throttle under boost I get fuel correction to 11.5 - 12.2.

After doing a lot of reasearch I came to the conclusion that I would rather not have a blistering 0-60 or even 1/8 mile number but still put up the same or very close numbers up top than to sacrafice my drivetrain for the sake of bragging rights. I only run between 6-7 psi but I have instant boost off the line...no lag at all. I'm sure I would give a Vortech jeep one hell of a run for its money.
