04 GC comments

Are there any comments, good or bad, about the 04 Grand Cherokee Limited? I am thinking of buying one for a 3rd vehicle.

Re: 04 GC comments

You should post in the WJ section.

However, I used to own an '04 GC. Loved it. I found it much more comfortable than the WK we owned. I only sold it because gas hit $5/gal and I was commuting in it; with a lift and full rack it only got about 14mpg combined. Mine had the HO V8. If I could have it back today I would. The only issues I recall being a problem were the heat/AC "blend doors" on the auto-climate equipped models breaking and the window roller mechanisms breaking.

Re: 04 GC comments

As with any other car, depends a lot on how it was maintained.
Indeed the automatic zone control can give problems with the blend door hinges, even though on mine they are still original and ok. My 4.7 only gave problems with oil burn some years ago, but after changing the valve seals, I donīt have to fill any oil in between the 10.000 km service intervals.
The 5-45RFE transmission is stout, only on mine it needed a rebuild at 150.000 km due to a burnt clutch pack. But this is not that common.
Iīm at 265.000 km now and still running great.
