2 inch body lift

I don't own a wrangler but a friend of mine does and wants to get bigger tires. I believe it's a 2000-02ish wrangler. What is he best yet cheapest body lift or space kit to buy??

I have installed a dozen or so of the Daystar 1" body mount kits on TJ & YJ models, most recently an '00 TJ about 3 days ago. They are complete replacement body mounts that are 1" taller than the stock mount. The kits are complete & include a drop down bracket for the transfer case linkage.

I advise using only the black colored kits, as the red/yellow/blue etc. ones do fade over time.

Being as it's only a 1" lift, there's not a lot of extra room for give tires. Typically, as in the case of the one I just did on the '00 TJ, it was in conjunction with a suspension lift. A simple Pro Comp 1.5"-2.0" lift was added with the 1" body lift. This made it possible to put 33x12.50-15 BFG KM2 tires on the TJ with sufficient room for daily driver duties & light wheeling.

The Pro Comp suspension lift was just springs & shocks. A simple job & inexpensive too.

The one I just did was for a customer at our shop. We do have 5 Jeeps at our house that are all lifted, including my wife's '93 YJ that has 13.5" of lift & rides on 35" tires.

Re: 2 inch body lift

Don't waste your money on a spacer lift. You can find someone who has upgraded their lift and is selling their used coil springs from a 2-3" lift and pick them up for a few hundred bucks. Before I lifted my TJ, I was running 32x11.50s on 15x10 rims-it was fine for the street but had minimal articulation. 31x10.50's are all 99.99% of people driving wranglers will ever need.
