Re: 2014 Wrangler - Colors

You should be able to order now ... that is if your dealership is aware of it and is on top of things. As of now you should be able to order the carry over 2013 colors (on a 2014 Wrangler) black, bright white, billet, dune, and anvil. Flame red (PR4) is again available to order now and new colors that should be available soon or within a few months are Copperhead (PLB), Granite Crystal (PAU), Hydro Blue (PBJ...) and Amp'd (PYC - Amp'd may be the new name for Bright Amber). The purple color (to possibly be called something different than Plum Crazy) is delayed indefinitely.

Discontinued colors for 2014 are Rock Lobster, Deep Cherry Red, Rugged Brown, True Blue and Commando.

Good luck with your purchase. Be aware that order items are always susceptible to change and/or your dealer may not be aware of them.

Re: 2014 Wrangler - Colors

The 2013 10th Anniversary bumper and hood may be available on the 2014 Rubicon X. 2014s will have automatic transmission coolers. Again, bits of information will continue for the coming weeks and I'm gleaning whatever I find.

What is this Rubicon X you speak of?

Re: 2014 Wrangler - Colors

Another Freedom Edition is expected along with a new model/package called Rubicon X. No confirmed information yet on what differentiates these models/packages. Rubicon X may have (I hope) the 10th Anniversary model's vented hood and different bumpers. A Warn Trail Kit may be available (late) for all models. No information yet on what is included in the kit. Be aware that I've seen stated or late availability options/colors arrive the following spring or sometimes not at all (Furious Fuscia/Floyd pink). A couple years ago I became aware of a Volcano Edition that didn't materialize but an Arctic Edition did.

The key point is if you are ordering a 2014 Wrangler, new information on colors and options will be trickling in during the next weeks/months. This is a "Jeep Thing" seemingly done by the company each year about this time, that is, new model information is revealed on a staggered basis.

You are welcome. Now that Plum Crazy may not be in the cards for production, I'll wait to see when the 2014 Wranglers arrive on the lots probably in late August or September. This forum seems to be abandoned by the former main providers of insider information, so accurate information on specs, options, packages may only come gradually to us all.

Discovered new color references on Paint Ref in the link below. Look at the area called: "Jeep paint collections" towards the top below the ad. If you click on the Yellow, Blue, or Orange tags, you can scroll down the various years (kind of fun to do) to 2014. Now, be forewarned all the colors in the yellow, blue, and orange seem only fair (not real good) representations of the actual in-the-metal colors. The comparison of the hues and darkness levels of the different colors gives some insights though.

2014 Amped (YC) seems a little lighter than Detonator Yellow (YB) and Dozer (Y5). Some have wondered if Amped (also Amp'd) is similar to Inca Gold (Y6, YJ) of model year's 2002-04. If you click "look up" to the right of the color, you may find an actual Wrangler or other Jeep in that color.

2014 Hydro Blue (BJ): no color is shown but if you scroll up to 2006, you'll see Atlantic Blue was also designated "BJ" so there is a good chance Hydro Blue is the same as Atlantic Blue.

2014 Copperhead (LB): scroll up to 2012 to see a rendition, or actual picture, of the Wrangler in Copper(head) (again LB).

Good luck to all of you with your existing Jeeps and new ones that are on the horizon. They are all great looking/cool vehicles that allow us to have fun. It'll be sad to leave my 2004 Rubicon for a 2014. Every time I see my Rubi, I love the way it looks.

p.s. In the upper left hand corner of this link, you can click "Custon Chip Sheet for 2014 Chrysler Jeep. Amped (formerly called Bright Amber) appears to look butterscotch.

Tidbit

A tidbit of information below in hopes of a Wrangler diesel sooner than later. I will be content with the V-6 and Amp'd if its a bright enough yellow unless I wait for the slim chance of Plum Crazy being offered.

Re: 2014 Wrangler - Colors

The Dodge Ram "Rumble Bee" is a concept truck that will be shown at 10 am (Central time, I presume) on August 17 at the Woodward Dream Cruise. I'm guessing but it might be in the Amp'd color. Look for it on Allpar or google it in a couple days.

I'm hoping Amp'd isn't Inca Gold from around 2003-04. Amp'd has a different code, YC instead of Inca Gold's YJ. More bright yellow than Inca would probably work for me. Hydro Blue (not released yet) may only be available initially on 2014 Freedom Edition. Hopefully, if you're willing to wait as I am, the big wigs might approve Plum Crazy or a new green (I have seen nothing about any green for 2014). If any one lives near the Toledo, Ohio Wrangler plant, some of the new Wranglers in Granite Crystal and Amp'd might be rolling outside soon so an ambitious photographer with a good zoom camera might get some great pictures for Jeep Garage. I don't think Copperhead has been released for production yet.

Thanks for comments Jdambm. Flew into St. Louis last month for a visit to central Illinois.

Re: 2014 Wrangler - Colors

Wrong guess. Ram Rumble Bee color is called Drone Yellow with a matte finish.
