Hydro Blue will most likely open for all Wranglers in the spring. Dune will close before the end of the year. The "Night" package will open early spring as well. It's a murdered out Sahara special Edition, all debadged, black leather, think of the 2012 Altitude package.
Next gen won't be 2015. 2015 is another carry over year. Look for another Rubicon X with a red leather option and possibly Duratracs from the factory on some trim levels.
I was told Plum Crazy was shot down because it was "too dark" for some of the Jeep execs.
I remember seeing a Willys Jeep in the late 1950s and have liked the looks and idea of Jeeps ever since. Chrysler has done a great job with Wrangler's design and the updating each year. Plum Crazy is great color, especially for a Wrangler, IMHO. "Too dark". Black is the darkest. The Blackish green of a few years ago was very dark. I'm just a customer so thanks to those Jeep execs for no Plum Crazy.
When I pull the trigger it may be a Flame Red Rubicon with red top and flares. I like the X but the black leather is too hot in the Arizona sun. I need cloth or at least the light brown leather which is not available on the X unless someone knows if that might change soon. I may leave off the automatic temperature control option though because it includes the filters to change which can be $50 or so as on my Grand Cherokee.
Thanks for the updates and information Pat, especially on 2015. Always much appreciated. Its fun to know those upcoming near and long term changes.
Have relatives in Washington, Illinois where the destructive tornado just passed through. Always good to have a 4WD in emergency situations, unless it gets picked up and dropped elsewhere.
