How do you know, for sure, its the battery? A simple trip to the dealer would have helped answer that question for free.

Regardless, its your $150.

Autozone said it was a short

It was 90 miles round trip to get '"maybe the run a round" only 16 miles to A.Z. an resolve the sorry battery .
There is only one year warranty on the battery so, we're pushing 70 an needed to know we were not going to be stranded with a sorry factory battery. I would have bought a new battery this fall for insurance against failure.
I still think I should be refunded as my wrangler is only 4 months old ! O.P.

Re: 2014 wrangler dead battery this a.m.

There is only a 1 year warranty on the battery? I have owned various GM vehicles for years (Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, GMC and Cadillac) and GM has always warrantied the battery under the bumper to bumper 3/36 or 4/50 warranty. Of course I have always gotten a loaner car too unlike the sorry asses at Jeep who refuse to give you one even when the car is disabled/not drivable and in under warranty...so I guess I'm not surprised.

I am still baffled that I bought a JGC Overland that stickered for 53k and no loaner car is included in the warranty...

No, that's not correct.

Here is the official list of the few items which have only a 12/12,000 warranty, and the battery is not on the list.

But the following items are covered only for 12 months or for 12,000 miles on the odometer, whichever occurs first:
• brakes (rotors, pads, linings, and drums);
• wiper blades;
• clutch discs or modular clutch assembly (as equipped);
• windshield and rear window; and
• wheel alignment and wheel balancing

The OP simply wanted an excuse to buy a new battery.

Re: 2014 wrangler dead battery this a.m.

B. What’s Covered
The Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of all parts
and labor needed to repair any item on your vehicle
when it left the manufacturing plant that is defective in
material, workmanship or factory preparation. There is
no list of covered parts since the only exception are tires
and Unwired headphones.

That is direct from Jeep.com. It does cover the exclusions previously mentioned also (after 12/12000). Battery is 3/36.

Well, you're wrong. But since you seem to know it all, I'm not going to argue with you about it.

For the benefit of anyone that comes across this thread, the battery is NOT a 12/12000 item. It is a 3/36000 item according to my warranty manual & according to the warranty description on the jeep.com website.
