re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

[QUOTE=Pcbeachbum;1046227]Having followed two of the previous Information Threads(2012 and 2014) one of the things I can say with confidence is if you don't read it from Pat, Milous, or Archer then I would take it as a rumor. I am not saying they are the only one's with any inside knowledge but their sources have always been spot on 99% of the time and they are very good about posting as soon as they have anything new and solid to share/update. They do this more from being Jeep guys than trying to make a sale, where as a large portion of your local guys are going to just say something to get you off their case or to encourage you to buy something now. QUOTE]

I plan to lurk and follow their threads for the next few years as the redesign approaches so I know if I need to buy a late 2016 model(or possibly just keep my 2014) if they do a lot I dislike with the redesign, or if I am going to be one of the first in line for the 2017 redesign.

Well said on our friends that have an inside track on the information. Could be they just wanted to try and sell me something on the lot since I didnt have the radio upgrade on my list for the 2015. That is just one of many reasons to post and ask what others have heard. Here you get the straight story. Too bad that doesnt always happen at the dealership.

Yeh, mine includes the RC9. I'm glad to give up the cubby if It makes a solid difference in sound quality. Admittedly, a bit leery of flooding concerns, but trusting the engineers at jeep know exactly the purposes for which rubis are built and kept that in mind when housing the sub. The cubby loss doesn't bother me because utility doors will more than make up that space.

Any word on what the markings or badge identifying the "Hard Rock" will look like? I can see what it includes on the build sheet, but real curious about the look...

Just signed the paperwork to process a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon X (Hard Rock?) in Hyrdo Blue...

Now to wait a cool 6 - 12 weeks while it comes in

REGARDING RC9:

RC9 will become standard on Sahara and Rubicon like the Hard Rock Edition, assume a base price increase before allocation opens July 9th.

So does that mean that waiting until July 9th is pointless because the base price will just go up $650 to cover the cost?

If so that's annoying. I could have placed my June 11th order and had the truck a lot sooner. But it's nice to have some more news.

I don't know how much the price increase will be. I'm hoping there is some sort of break due to the 9 speaker replacing the 7 speaker system that was standard on Sahara and Rubicon.

Oh good. I get a massive stereo for those infrequent days I actually want to listen to something really loud and share it with everyone else on the road. (because with a soft top that's what will be happening.)

So it looks like once again Jeep doesn't want my money by delaying the introduction of diesel Wranglers in America. Is it safe to assume nothing will happen on the diesel front until the 2017 redesign?

Waiting another two years is so frustrating!

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Probably. It sounds like they're not seeing enough diesel demand on the GC to justify it on the JK. idk if you'd really want it. Sounds like a costly option, more expensive maintenance and gas, urea refills, etc. And good luck finding low sulfur diesel in the rest of the Americas. The gas engine with the AEV fuel caddy probably gives you similar range to the diesel.
