+1 - I feel like their orders were placed after mine and I'm stuck in Inspection hell - but it'll be worth the wait

I had an estimated ship date (railcar) of 7/24 and transfer/delivery to NJ of 7/30 (NY is the final destination). Anyone think that since the 7/24 date has come and gone with no pass-through from inspection/railcar movement that the 8/4 delivery date is still realistic? Or close at least?

I'll form a support group if things don't change soon.

Hey thanks for the support

Normally it wouldn't matter - waiting for a good thing is fine. We're just planning the cross country move in this vehicle - so trying to coordinate timing is making things

Sounds like my situation. I'll be commuting in northern VA around 27 miles each way, half back roads and half highway.

I've spent too much time on this site and the and have a pretty good breakdown I'll add below. Anyone feel free to correct me but I got an OTD price on both and I think the difference came out to roughly $1350. That difference was enough to make me go Willys b/c I like the wheels better, its supposed to have better suspension, and I like the extra black everywhere.

Now if they dont let me pick TANK on a Willys....

Option - Willys - Sport S

3.73 axle ratio - incl - $495
Connectivity - incl - $495
Sirius - incl - $195
Trac Lock - incl - $295
Slush Mats - incl - $95
Supp Airbag - 495 - 495
Prem Soft Top - $400 - $400
Alpine Audio - $695 - $695
6 spd manual - $0 - $0

Sticker (w/dest) - $34,880 - $33,360

Final price just below invoice - $32,868 - $31,517

VA taxes/tags/fees/etc - $1932

OTD - $34,800 - $33,450

Willys also includes performance suspension, rock rails, tint windows, black grill, black 17" wheels, maybe different tires? I really wanted black wheels but the set I want with tires will set me back closer to $3K

Good Luck!!

Willys tires are the Rubicon BF Goodrich mud tires aka KM1.

Suspension on Willys is the Rubicon suspension. Anytime Jeep takes the wheels and tires from the Rubi and puts them on a sport or Sahara as part of a special edition the suspension will be part of the package.

Does that make it worse for a DAily Driver? Maybe it doesn't matter, drop an mpg or 2. We are talking about Wranglers here.

Thanks for clarifying

Hey Pat, since I'm new to the forum it won't let me PM you. I live fairly close and would like to order a rubicon, what's the best way to get in touch with you? My email is mpryor0416@gmail.com

I don't know, I'm pessimistic enough to think I'm not out of the woods just yet... Maybe mine will end up in the Clark Fork!

Just curious, anyone know how they ship them by rail? Are they covered, in a container, open air?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found out:

I want that. And the blue interior from the GC in it. I don't need a loud toddler color to have fun 😉

Thanks for the info! Looks like I will be going Willys in Tank or Anvil not sure which one yet and hopefully moving in the next few months for new job. After getting settled I will be ordering, does anyone have a dealership to recommend in the Modesto or surrounding area of CA ?
