It looks like it may have a transparent piece(?) to keep dirt/water out hopefully since I leave the rear windows out nearly year round. There should be little to no sound issue since its a sub woofer and the base passes through most material but it doesn't look flush with the floor. So, back to my custom idea, a water proof, carpeted piece that's thick enough to have a relief where the sub goes and then makes the trunk perfectly flat.
All said, I prefer it in the floor than in the way of gear in the back.
Now if only my jeep had the right gears (confirmed it was a dealer error related to the system glitch) I could be excited again! At least the sales manager that ordered it remembered that it would not let him add it and believed as I did that 4:10's were coming. No battle there which is good...

Just seems interesting (silly) to put a open vent on top of a speaker in the middle of the 'trunk' on a vehicle that can have the top removed.
