Also, in a psudo related note, does the Toledo South Plant run 24/7?

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Hi all. Thanks for all the great info. Looking to order a Willy's and trying to figure out tow package. Sounds like the Max tow isn't a good buy since you already have the 3.73s and the tow hitch and wiring harness is much cheaper to buy aftermarket, but is there any other engine tuning, etc. that is different with the Max Tow? Main reason I ask is that I've seen Willy's on dealer lots that they have ordered and charged for Max Tow package. Seems like if anything they should only charge for standard Tow Package if all they really added was the hitch and wiring. Thanks.

Re: Tow package and extra capacity gas tank

A 15 that is on its way to a dealership near me says 22.5 gallons on the window sticker.

Should the tow package give extra 5gl capacity for a total of 23.6gl? or am I mistaken here?
Has anybody noticed or heard of the same issue on a 2015 or a 2014 Rubi X?
Thanks

I have a 2014 4 door Rubi X. Supposedly the tank holds 22.5 gallons but I have never, ever been able to put more than about 19.8 gallons in it and that was squeezing every last drop in it after the EVIC said I could only go 12 more miles. From what I understand there is a "reserve" of approx 2 gallons that stays in the Jeep to keep from damaging the fuel injection system. Enjoy your new ride.

The way I read that is that they will put 5 gallons of gas in it for you to start, not an additional 5 gallons of tank space.

Just my 2 cents.

That be right... they need gas to move the Jeep around in the rail yards, etc. Got account for that somewhere.

Yeah, I called Jeep.
They said that the extra 5gl capacity is an option inside the tow package option. When I read it back then (before ordering mine) I understood that extra 5gl were included with the tow package

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Any News from the plant? Last I heard they were working orders for the dealers to get the new 2015's on the lots. This D1 is killing me.

It's like waiting for a slow boat from China.

There just isn't room to put the larger tank... There isn't even after market kits to increase the tanks from what I have seen, like there are for other vehicles.

Here is what is included in the Tow packages and the fuel tank sizes. If they were going to make the tank 5 gallons larger for getting the tow packages, I would expect them to advertise that 'feature'.

Two shifts, 10 hours a day, 6 days a week with an attempt to run one shift every sunday.
