Three first names... Middle name is another 'First' :-)

I had the same talk with the wife... She demanded leather and heated seats.

So we are getting:
  • Hood
  • Leather Heated Seats
  • TPM and EVIC
  • Chromatic Rear View with LED Lights
  • Connectivity Group
  • Locking Diffs (I dont think that is on the standard)
And we can sell the bumpers for a few dollars on CL... Or scrap metal :-)

They have. Google those names and you'll see that most off road magazines have done it. The consensus is that the Duratrac is 9/10 as good in mud, sand, rocks as the major players (KM2 etc) and WAY better in ice/rain/ snow. ESPECIALLY ICE. I can attest to that. If MPG's are a concern, the Duratracs are the lightest tire BY FAR which helps and also changes the unsprung weight, this reducing that famous bumpy jeep ride! But everybody has had different experiences.

I'm sure it was a hack job. But the Milous/scottina thing might have some legs! It makes sense

Did you add up a Sahara or rubicon with the options you wanted? I might just do that to help me feel better about going non-HR. Lockers are standard on all Ruby's.

Just a note concerning the connectivity group (specifically Bluetooth) based on personal experience. Before you order it, something to think about.
On previous Chrysler products I have ordered, I went for the 430n and 730n stereos for the hands free phone use. Over the years, I have had issues with apple iphone and others playing nicely with stock stereos. Eventually after a few firmware updates, they stop communicating and I have to throw out my $2,000 factory deck and replace it. I've had a pioneer touch screen for years ($300) and I have been able to upgrade it every time for new apple products. AND after I learned this, I don't have all these buttons on my steering wheel for the phone that no longer work

My hacked VOTS say that my jeep has been delivered to the dealer, but MOTS says it's only been unloaded from the railcar. Anyone else have similar experiences? I'm inclined to trust MOTS.

I'm having the same issue. Fields Sanford says it hasn't arrived and I trust they're on the lookout. Hopefully it's close.

They get updated at different times. I'd be inclined to believe the one that shows the most advancement. So in your case, I'd think it was at the dealer.

It's CHEAPER to buy the rubicon. $3,700+ not including the transfer case. And I don't have to worry about who is liable if something goes wrong. I can't paint the stock black top due to texture, so I got that. I can't get a better stereo (besides head unit) for the $600. Everything else is really not worth it IMO. I can get an AEV bumper or the MOPAR bumper for $800 and $500 respectively unpainted.

There are lots of things that come standard on the Hard Rock that do not come standard on the Rubicon. When my dealer added up the Rubicon vs the Hard Rock with the exact same options (minus the bumpers, hood, red accessories which are impossible to order on the regular Rubicon), the price difference was about $1300. TO be honest, I went with the Hard Rock because I was planning on ordering all of those options anyway AND I REALLY wanted the hood. You can buy the hood at QT for $600 + $120 for the vents + $150 shipping = $870 Then pay $500-600 to get it painted. So really I wouldn't have saved any money at all. It would have just been a hassle for me to mess with the hood.

I'll most likely eventually sell the Hard Rock bumpers and make a few $$$. You can't get much for the regular plastic wrangler bumpers.

More to come

How's the on road ride of your new Duratracs vs the stock BF Goodrich? Same Rubi stock rims? Heard it rides smoother, less knobby perhaps? She's a looker, congrats!
