I was having to put 2 kids in the rear seat and a hockey bag in the front seat, as the bag couldn't go in the back with a the seat being used, even if it's just by one person.

It is also relatively difficult to get into the rear seat. Make sure you check one out and try it yourself before making a decision.

I do prefer the looks of a 2-door myself, and I'm not sure if I would ever get a 4-door. But, in terms of practicality, the 2-door is weak. I guess you'll need to think about how you will be using the vehicle.
Agreed. I drove a 2-door for 18 years. Great when I was single and married without kids. With kids, 4-door for sure.

4 door for sure. I think they look best now in 4 door. JMO

Can you all comment on this?

If it's just you or + 1 and it's your DD, you all and your friends are agile and you both pack light...the 2 door will be fine and a kick to drive/off-road/ride. I drove a CJ-7 for 25 yrs as a DD, Hubby and I took it to the woods camping on a regular schedule, to the interstates on several 3 wk OK-FL-OH-OK trips and 2 girl friends did several long out of state trips with me. Grandson & family have a Wrangler Sahara 2 door as a DD, it's a mall crawler, it only hits the interstate when they are in a tornados' path. There son is small, so he slips into backseat. Grocery shopping is frequent, so they drop sacks over the backseat to share seat with the son.

I got the JKUR this time, it's the closest I could get to what I had. 4 door, so friends...who are older and less agile do not have to climb into the backseat. Much bigger cargo area, no flipping up the backseat to put groceries or camping gear, lift catch push the backseat 60/40 or both, now days, we have to carry more stuff. Hubby says it rides better than the 2 door CJ-7. To me a Jeep is just home.

Like the others have said make your list of how long you will keep it and every little thing you might do with your JK...and it will be revealed to you. This is my first 4 door of 3 Jeeps, when I was building I would have loved another 2 door. However, I LOVE just LOVE my JKUR!!! Good luck with your decision.

Agreed. The proportions seem right on the 4 door. For 2 doors, I like the TJs over the JKs.

My wheels have yellow hand written numbers on them still... Paint pen? Hasn't come off with washing yet. Might have to try some paint cleaner.

My 4 door HRR came with a reversible mat that covers most of the cargo area. It is carpet with an embroidered Jeep logo on one side and rubber with diamond tread on the other.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Chiming in with this recent talk of Rubicon/Hard Rock value...
I'm preparing to order a new Unlimited. I plan on sticking to city streets with my Jeep. I love the look of the bumpers, hood, etc... on the Hard Rock but everything else is definitely overkill for my needs. My last JK was a Sahara which served me well and I like the painted top and fenders. Right now I'm leaning towards a Sahara and upgrading the hood, but not the bumpers because I'm not trying to fool people/myself that my Sahara is a RHR.
A couple of questions....
1. If I buy a hood after the fact, is it best to get it painted by the dealership? Will it really match? Or will I always look at it funny every time I wash it?
2. If I'm really looking for a Sahara with a little more wow factor, am I better off just buying the Altitude because it comes with the upgraded hood?
3. Any news on an Altitude for 2015? I don't think I've seen any yet. It would be great if they had the 2015 Altitude with a few more subdued colors.

Thanks. I appreciate everyone's input as the people on this thread seem really knowledgable and experienced.

After all that, just realized the Altitude doesn't have the upgraded hood. It's the Polar, which I'm not a big fan of. Hmmm... Decisions decisions

Nice work!

I think I'm going to take a break from the forum for a while so I don't find anyone's rig I like better than mine : )

I don't have a lot of unique info but if anyone has a specific question, PM me.

I will say after almost 400 miles or so, I LOVE the ride of the Mopar lift. Not sure how it will differ from the other new Mopar lift talked about (the one I have is fairly expensive so maybe a more economical version coming (?).

My 4:88 gear change will be done Tuesday or so and that should restore power. 3:73's with 35's yielded very slow acceleration, general lack of power and about 13 mpg not to mention about a 7% speedometer error (which hurts the mpg calculator too I know).

Only item left is a back up camera. Haven't decided if I try my old lockpick, a new lockpick or just buy a camera and flash the head unit at the dealer.

Anyway,

Thanks to all for the awesome info contained here and see on the road!

Joe

4:10s & 37s are no problem
Also doin Lockpick & camera, but was advised by Lockpick to wait for the software upgrade for 15s

Stock mats are carpet and have changed from 14.
Waiting for new aftermarket to be built.
