Very cool. I'd be doing the same thing except I'm waiting to see what shade my Sunset Orange Jeep actually is so I can match the paracord more closely. Since I have time I might go ahead and build a jig and make a test handle. Then I'll have the jig ready to go to make the final versions once I get my Jeep. Not like I don't enjoy playing with paracord anyway.

Did you use someone else's pattern or design your own from scratch?

I didn't use a jig or anything. I just bought the paracord "gunmetal" and "confederate" colors, using black as the base weave.

The one in the photos is going to be the rear sound bar handles. I'll do two more for the back of the seats, and two for the front.

Totally disagree. A four door Jeep is just another SUV.

Some drive Jeep's some drive "4-door Jeep's."

My wheels have yellow hand written numbers on them still... Paint pen? Hasn't come off with washing yet. Might have to try some paint cleaner.
Same here. My dealer did a quickie prep because I wanted it that day!

My tires have the handwritten "1" thru "5" on them. I got most of it off, but there is still a shadow of the number left behind. I just learned to live with it.

My wheels and tires also have a bright orange (or was it bright yellow?) dot on them. The dot on the wheel aligned with the dot on the tire. Never figured out what those were for.

14s have hooks
15s have snaps
Will be a minute before 15s are available
I thought the floor mat change was the 2013 (and before) had only one hold down attachment, and the 2014 (and after) now have two hold down attachments.

If you put an older one-hold-down mat into a new Jeep what requires two, that's the "unsafe condition" their lawyers wanted them to mention.

tire/rim balancing, all tires have a yellow dot on the light balance side and they usually line them up with the valve stems on the rim which would be the heavy balance side on the rim...

Answers to some questions-couldn't find the original posts to quote

Side Air Bags CJ1 must go to at least S or W package to add on both 2 and 4 door
Not available on B(base sport) or K(base willys) for 2 door
Not available on C(base sport) or K(base willys) for 4 door

Trailer Tow Group on 2 door Sport(some early builds might show 3.73 is included but it's wrong)

On B pkg, S pkg, AHT Trailer Tow only includes hitch and wiring. DME 3.73 axle is stand alone option.

On K and W package Willys, 3.73 is standard

Trailer Tow Group on 4 door Sport

AHT- Trailer/Tow hitch and wiring only
Must select Max Tow package AHQ

Keep in mind on Willys, both 2 and 4 door 3.73 is standard so you only need trailer tow package.

There are lots of choices.

AEV and Brandmotion make full kits.

To "roll your own", there are way too many choices to list here. Personally, I had my dealer flash (enable) the Parkview Backup Camera option on my head unit (code XAC), designed/built my own bracket, and used a Kenwood camera.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Hi all, thanks as always for the wealth of information. Set on Hydro Blue for a new '15; debating on models. The Sahara is probably best for my needs, but I really don't like the body color fenders and the tubular side steps are at a useless height and as far as I can tell only serve to get mud on your pants while getting into/out of the jeep. The Rubi is a bit more than I need (though with the value they hold it's tempting), so I've been looking at the Willys. I really like the "bruise" motif, but think I actually prefer the blue grill to the black. Any thoughts on whether it would be easier/cheaper to swap or paint the grill on a Willys vs. swapping the fenders and step on the Sahara? Maybe the fabled Sahara X will have black fenders?

It depends you can go many ways, easiest but costly is the AEV back up camera system.

I my self will be using a lock pick and buying a camera off of amazon.

Many different routes, but I plan on taking on the rear tire carrier for a bit to ease with the blind spot..

Drive in deep mud and you won't see the numbers anymore.
