Yes last I knew it is still required.

It's automatically checked when the dealer selects JKJS74 (JKUR), and the dealer cannot uncheck it, so you cannot choose the sound and leather package as an option (at least mine couldn't, I watched him try).

The price was the same though, so it didn't make a difference except for an extra line on the order sheet.

2015 Wrangler Unlimited (JKJS74)

Rubicon Hard Rock (package 24J)
- Remote Start
- Max Tow Package
- Dual Top Group
- uConnect 730n
- Supplemental Frt Seat Airbags
- A/C with temp control

Should I get the the 4.10 axle or keep the 3.7? I'm not a big off roader yet and not sure if it will ever come I. handy. I was also told that the 4.10 is worse on gas mileage.

Now are there other things here that I am missing? Tires, rims, etc.

your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You have almost the exact same build I did.
I would say get rid of the max tow. You can get the same thing for $60 on Amazon. It only includes a receiver and a wiring harness. I assumed it would come with a transmission oil cooler and/or brake controller for the price... Second, you don't say what tranny you are getting. If you get the Auto like mine, it comes with 3.73 standard, and I would recommend getting the 4.10 gears added to your build. My Hard Rock feels a little weak when I give it the gas, but that's probably because my other vehicle is a Ram 1500 with a Hemi 5.7. I would really be disappointed if I left the 3.73's in the pumpkins. Mathematically the 4.10 will be worse on gas, but the difference is barely noticeable. As for tires, I plan on running these until they need replacement, then I'll go bigger, with a 2-3 inch lift, a set of 35's, and wider wheels. The stock ones are good enough for now, and being in the northeast, I'll probably turn the stock rims into a set of studded snow tires when I go bigger. Only things I've added since I picked up my Hard Rock are removable mirrors for when the doors are off, and a set of Body Armor Gen II trail doors so I don't get dirty looks from parents when I ride with the kids in the back seat and the full doors are off!

If he is getting remote start then I am pretty sure that means automatic trans.

You better be a patient guy...I had a set of Rubicon tires that were still street friendly after 40k miles :-) The tread was just about done as far as an offroad/mud tire, but easily 7+/32" left on the tread blocks

I am working on my build sheet, getting ready to order my Jeep. I am torn between the 430N and the 730N. Is there an advantage of one over the other? Can additional maps be loaded, like TOPO's? The interface is not critical, as I am a total geek and can program my DVR without the help of a 12 year old. Appreciate the feedback.

It appears that our "tank" "hard rocks" were built side by side then.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I haven't seen it after going through all 300 something pages. Is the body-colored hardtop required in order to order a Rubicon with the body-colored fenders? This seems like an odd requirement, but at least on Edmund's that's what it's forcing me to do. If so, what's the market for selling off a body-colored hard top look like? Thanks.
