I have several great discount offers from local dealers when I do order one.

Is there anything you can recommend about how long I can wait to order this...once it become available to be ordered...

Another thread mentioned Oct 8 as the beginning order date.

Will this be such a limited run that it might only be available for a few weeks, and then discontinued.

I'd like to wait and see if Jeep offers any additional incentives during the last part of 2014, and the first couple of months in 2015.

Any advice is appreciated

October 8th is the date it becomes available for ordering, yes, but it won't commence production until early November. In talks with my local dealer, depending on how soon I get my order in, it could take anywhere from 30-60 days from the time I order til the day my Jeep would show up.

Hope this helps.

You may be right, but the Copper Brown is featured in the 2015 Wrangler brochure and an even larger version of the same picture (much larger) appears in the Canadian version of the same brochure.

Somewhere way back in this thread I posted the Canadian picture, enhanced with nothing more than a click of the 'enhance' button on iPhoto..... which is all my wonky color vision will allow as far as color editing. It came out much darker than the very gold tinted color that the other pics here show.

I am visualizing pennies. Old pennies, like even 15 years ago, have a totally different copper color than newer pennies do (which might not have any copper in them anymore..... not a coin collector) and I think the color will be an either or. Either darker like older pennies were from the mint or super bright copper like brand new pennies and the pics make it appear.

The pic I posted is a real photo, although as is widely known different lighting will produced different results.

At least to me, any "copper" color should have an orange undertone to it. Last year's Copperhead had such an orange undertone. However, this year's Copper Brown doesn't have any orange; at least not in the available pictures.

Copper Brown is brown, yes, but copper, I remain unsure.

Well... that copper thing is more like a sultry, gaudy gold at sunset. I've bought "rubbed bronze" paint, which was much darker and I've had bright shiny 1968 pennies, which are real purty, but I don't usually see copper like that, unless it's just been pulled out of a museum exhibit.

I think it's got its place (Southern California beaches) but it's a bit flashy for me. I'd rather lurk around the forestry roads in a Tank.

My point about the pennies was that new pennies have a different combination of metals and will always shine up brighter than old pennies because they were designed to be 'bright'. They come off more like Milous' picture, which you can tell is being overlit for a studio shoot (look at the hardtop roof where it fades to white before the actual edge of the roofline, that is from photographer's lights over lighting it).

I would repost the pic I took and enhanced from the Canadian pamphlet but I'm not gonna get banned for biting on that hook.
I'll just go away for good and remember what it was like to drive a real tank, in deserts, jungles and while being shot at.

Later.

I think that's it in a nutshell. The studio pics of Tank and Baja were off from the real world pics... Remember everyone complaining that Tank wasn't dark enough? Similar complaints came about the Baja studio shot, but Oso's real world pics were awesome.

I'm betting the studio shots of Sunset and Copper are washed out too.

So, it should have been better called "Penny Brown" instead of "Copper Brown"?

As a recovering coin collector, let me set you straight on something. An uncirculated penny with a bit of toning is often refered to by collectors as Red. I can kind see it. I have a few 50+ year old cents which look quite like the picture, though a bit more reflective/mirror-like rather than the metalic finish (you'd have to find a matte proof cent to see that.)

Though we are all familiar with the brown pennies of old. Somewhere in my collection I could probably pull out some old cents with the approximate shading, but as stated, I could never get the lighting right to show the same color I see in person, much as with all Jeep color pictures.

Tis a burden we all live with. Better to see pictures than not.

And it's always better when people who wish to share their pictures take a moment and determine which lighting will best show the color (kind suggestion: no the direction where you are facing the sun.)

The Tank pic I posted was taken outside next to a building. The Copper Brown was taken inside a Chrysler facility in Mi under some really bright lights.
