Yes, I agree you should be able to choose. I live in AZ and I really like AutoAir. Should it cost what it did? Probably not; but it is nice and I'm glad I have it.

Thank you - so much more knowledge in that than just a guess.

I am pretty sure it was already post here somewhere.

I'll leave it to you, to go back and re-read all 400+ pages to find it. It should be part of the Paris Auto show stuff.

Could very well be true.

Jeep doesn't seem to ever value accuracy in any of its press releases.

Thanks -- I kinda remember the one you are talking about -- I thought they applied to Euro market -- either way, I agree with you that the accuracy of those are something to be desired.

I think I said a Mountain. But, with that hood a HRR may have gotten in on the action too.

When you say, "Yes, that's it", please tell us what "it" is.

By that I mean, is this the unknown Sunset Orange you saw behind a dark corner of the factory or is this a new model? If this is really Sunset Orange I think the alternative name might be Tomato Red.

I kind of like it but it is not nearly as Orange as I would like. I waited out the end of last years models hoping for another real orange. I may have to go for this red orange anyway.

greetings,

ordered a 2015 Sahara.

i passed on the auto air control and have a question:

it appears that air conditioning is standard on Sahara and auto temp control adds climate control so you set it at a temperature and it maintains it at that temperature. is this correct?

without the auto air control you still get air conditioning but manually turn a knob from red to blue to adjust temperature. correct?

and also, without auto air control do you still get a cabin filter?

i was kind of concerned i would get a Sahara without air since i skipped the auto air.

thank you all for the wealth of information i have found in this forum.

You get air but you don't get the automatic feature.

Sounds like what other people call Climate Control. You set a temperature and the ventillation system tries to maintain that.

That pic looks more like Firecracker Red than any of the Sunset Orange variants that we've seen here.

Some of the (possibly Photoshopped) examples we've seen are more orange than others; the one example I've seen that looks more like a pre-production example looks more red.

It's going into production on 11/3, so I'm guessing that we'll see some actual pre-production pics in the next few weeks. That's just my guess - I don't have any inside knowledge.

What they said...but to address your other question. My understanding is that you do not get the cabin air filter without the "Auto A/C" option, however the compartment is still there. You just have to pull your glove box and pop in your own filters. Sizing is (double check me) 5-15/16″ L x 2-15/16″ W x 13/16″ H x 2 filters.
