I'm still trying to figure out what DBW means.

I'm assuming it means Drive By Wire.

Bingo...

VW started the trend in the lower end market with the DBW TB's, and the stupid blue interior lighting, now everyone does that in one way or another lol.

On VW's when you flash the ecu you can reduce some of it, but its still there, especially when you try to blip the throttle and rev match. Most of it is due to the tolerances they set on settings from the factory, they don't want a random throttle input etc.

*edit

But I will say that its not as pronounced in a Wrangler, however.

If the wrangler is like other chryslers, the lag can be removed with a tuner

Oh wow, that's good to hear. It was my understanding you could never totally cure the problem.

With a trinity tuner you can increase the sensitivity of the throttle. I increased my challenger throttle by 10% and the lag is just about gone. I can go another 10%, but I was afraid that would be to sensitive. Again, this is on my challenger, I'm not sure if it could be done on a JK.

If I were a bettin' man, I'd put money on someone making something for the wrangler.

2015 Wrangler Information Thread

Does anyone have any information on when or if Sunset will open for ordering again on the HRR? Any idea why it was stopped? Will it reopen and if so, when?

Is there someone with Chrysler, Brand Manager or otherwise who we can query?

I just negotiated a killer price and can't order!!!

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Those of you who have hooked up reverse cameras to 430 head units, what all is involved with wiring etc.? My dealer agreed to flash the 430, but I'm not real sure what I need to buy. Looking at the overpriced brandmotion because of the bracket. Can I get the one designed for aftermarket units that has an RCA plug? Is there wiring that I need to do so the unit knows I'm in reverse? I have a manual transmission by the way. Thanks for any input.

I plan on adding a camera as well. There are several good videos on YouTube that will show you what's involved in the install. It looks fairly straight forward.

That looks like Ramsey in NJ! Is it? That's where I ordered my 2015 JKU Hard Rock from. Fond memories of finally getting a new wrangler after 15 years!

There's Superchips FlashCal, but I don't recall throttle sensitivity, its probably in there though, people I know just use them for their winch and adjusting their speedo when they add bigger tires/lift.
