Will the lift kit come with any sizes other than 2" and can the driveshaft be purchased separately?

Its strange that it even needs a driveshaft at only 2" of lift.

As Pat alluded to in a previous post....

The reason may be because it indemnifies (limits the responsibility of) the vehicle warranty if the lift kit is added after the vehicle leaves the factory.

I am not a Vehicle Engineer, but the drive shaft may be next component that would fail, due to a failure of the lift kit itself.

And if the optional drivesaft was installed at the same time as the lift kit, if it were also to fail, since it is not the OEM drive shaft, the vehicle warranty would not even need to consider replacing it.

Pat...what say you?

Well, the driveshaft has contact issues at full flex on JK's with the 3.6. Generally, that isn't a problem with 2" lifts, but Jeep is claiming that their new 2" lift provides the flex of many aftermarket 4" kits.

Quite frankly, I'm more concerned with the lack of LCA's and Track Bar....

OK...that's interesting.

So it's more of a potential problem while using the lift kit..

than with a failure of the lift kit.

Yes. Part of the problem is the "exhaust trumpet" which can interfere with the large diameter of the driveshaft.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Q: Why do we need a driveshaft in the kit? A: When the 3.6 engine was introduced, (2012) the exhaust routing ran the pipe directly under the front driveshaft. When a lift is installed, the driveshaft is lowered, hence it will rub on the exhaust pipe when the suspension drops away from the vehicle. This causes the protective boot on the driveshaft to wear and eventually tear apart, allowing contaminants to leak into the boot and causing the driveshaft slip feature to eventually fail. So far, aftermarket companies have made short spacers to lower the exhaust to fix the problem, but this is untested for emissions and looks like a poor solution. Previously we have used a limit strap to prevent the axle from dropping down too far, and while this will work, a flexible suspension ought to be flexible; the limit strap restricts flexibility. We address this problem the best way with a new, smaller diameter shaft, but it is more expensive. The cheaper kits let the driveshaft hit and don't address the issue satisfactorily.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Thanks a lot Pat for the information, sorry for going off topic with all these technical questions on the lift kit, but I can't seem find much information online about it yet so you are our only source of information.

Do you happen to know if it uses cam bolts to correct the front axle placement? I'm assuming it doesn't since its only 2 inches of lift? Also do you know if the driveshaft will be sold separately?

Maybe I'm not seeing it here, but wasn't there a msrp/invoice list for all the options - not just the basic Jeep cost? Like the tow group, auto A/C, etc?

Prices change throughout the model year...prices valid today may not be valid tomorrow

You can go on Jeep.com and build your vehicle...and as you add each option you will see the current MSRP cost for each option.

You can also simply email any dealer in the country and ask them to work up a work order which will show the MSRP and Invoice.

I don't put that much faith into a dealer telling me the invoice price, that's why I prefer to research things out first. There's nothing stopping them from making up prices and I don't want to haggle more than need be. I know I can use Jeep.com for MSRP, nothing new there. Prices changing daily, bull.
