re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Pat or Anyone else,

Do you know about the $500 Bonus cash for military? Just talked to the Incentive desk and they said the current offer does not apply to Wranglers at all. IS this true? Has anyone received the Military Cash incentive on a Wrangler?

Thanks

Ryan

There doesn't seem to be any exclusions for Wranglers (excluded Chrysler models are Dodge Viper SRT, Fiat 500 Abarth, Dodge Dart SE and all SRT models).

However, it only applies to purchases between May 20, 2014 and June 2, 2014. Basically, a "Memorial Day" sale.

Question re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

This may not be the best place for this, but I didn't think it warranted a new thread.

What's a fair amount to put down as a deposit for a vehicle order? I thought a grand would be more than reasonable, but I had a dealer tell me $2500 this morning, nonrefundable of course. Maybe I'm just ignorant of the Jeep ordering process, but that seemed really high to me. He tried to tell me it was because I wanted a half door model and they didn't want to be caught holding it if I walked away, but I don't know.

Doesn't really matter right now as I'm waiting to order one in Anvil, but I'd like to know if I'm wrong thinking $2500 was a bit much.

When I ordered my 2013 JKUR they asked for $1000 down - which I was ok with. I've heard people putting less ($250-500) but I don't think you should need to put down more than $1000.

Your dealer/salesperson is the one that is ignorant. Unless you are ordering something that is so over-the-top that they would not be able to re-sell it if you bail, a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit is standard.

They will have no problem selling a half-door.

I was asked for and put $1k down. Dealer shrugged it off when I asked how much he needed down like it wasn't a big deal had I made it an issue of it.

$500 max is typically what's suggested

A good dealer $0. They have no problems selling wranglers, I mean if they can sell the Dragon Editions they can sell any wrangler. Brian at Fields in Orlando never even brought up the notion of a deposit. Called me on his day off since that was the day Granite opened up, put in the order, and kept me in the loop the whole way to delivery. Pat has trained him well. From my experience Fields is the exception and no way near the norm but if you can't get to one of them, you should at least be able to find a dealer who wants your business enough that they aren't asking for a ridiculous deposit.

Talk to the dealership. You only need to show proof of service ... vehicle doesn't matter. The programs do have a from - to date and it is usually 6 months. If there is a temporary hiatus then tell Jeep you'll blog the world that veterans shouldn't bother with buying a Jeep anytime soon.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Need some opinions.

I am planning to order a 2015 2 door Rubicon in Tank with the intention of doing a military style build. I was previously firm about going with "traditional" black hard top and fenders, but now I am starting to wonder.

I had been looking at photos of OD military jeeps and military vehicles in general and I have noticed that most seem to have all body parts painted OD green including the wheels and fenders.

If I order this jeep with body colored fenders and top, will I achieve more of a military appearance or will I fail and end up with a "metro classy" green jeep? I am having a difficult time with this due to the fact that the finish will not be flat like military paint, but shiny with a clearcoat. What say you, should I go with black or body colored?
