Just black fenders and tops for the Rubicon, the rest of the Jeep needs to be a fun color, at least in my opinion 😃. Starting to wonder if Sunset Orange or Plum Crazy even exists for 2015! Waiting patiently!

I am planning to order a 2015 2 door Rubicon in Tank with the intention of doing a military style build. I was previously firm about going with "traditional" black hard top and fenders, but now I am starting to wonder.

I had been looking at photos of OD military jeeps and military vehicles in general and I have noticed that most seem to have all body parts painted OD green including the wheels and fenders.

If I order this jeep with body colored fenders and top, will I achieve more of a military appearance or will I fail and end up with a "metro classy" green jeep? I am having a difficult time with this due to the fact that the finish will not be flat like military paint, but shiny with a clearcoat. What say you, should I go with black or body colored?

Painted matching top with black flares

Military Tank.

Order a Willys version in Tank. Good start on a retro looking vehicle but with a lot of good "guts" underneath without the Rubi cost.

If you are a hard core wheeler then...

Buy a Rubicon save the money by not going body color. Switch the fenders to flat style aftermarket and paint them Tank. Do not lift it. Cloth seats and convert them to a khaki style.
Get a fabric top in Khaki.

What's a fair amount to put down as a deposit for a vehicle order? I thought a grand would be more than reasonable, but I had a dealer tell me $2500 this morning, nonrefundable of course. Maybe I'm just ignorant of the Jeep ordering process, but that seemed really high to me. He tried to tell me it was because I wanted a half door model and they didn't want to be caught holding it if I walked away, but I don't know.

Doesn't really matter right now as I'm waiting to order one in Anvil, but I'd like to know if I'm wrong thinking $2500 was a bit much.
That sounds way too high, half doors or not. I put a $500 deposit down when I ordered my '14 last August.

Where is everyone getting their data? I saw a post that said Firecracker Red is available and it uploaded on Jeep.com but when I access the website, I still only see the build and price with a 2014 model.

If there is any way someone could send me that Excel spreadsheet floating around I would REALLY appreciate it. The current filters on my network don't let me follow the link.

*I was going to buy a 2014 Sahara Unlimited but since I can't drive it for a few months anyway I decided to go for a 2015.

I am new as well. Thanks to everyone's posts I ordered my first jeep. 2014 JK unlimited WW firecracker red. I was told it should be at the dealer by June 22. I will post pictures when I get it.

I ordered with 1/2 doors last year, and mentioned to the dealer that I had heard rumors of a black Moab wheel/Rubi tire option that i might want. His reaction was, "let's order one now and if you like/want the rumored wheel tire package then I'll get a bonus 1/2 door Jeep! I can always order you another 1/2 door Jeep, but I haven't had one of those in years."

Not only did he require no deposit, but he gave me an estimate on my trade prior to ordering and promised to honor it upon delivery.

Now, he's had several of our trade-ins over the years and knows what he's getting, so it's low risk stuff....

Forget the dual top option, I want a dual door option (half doors and full doors)!

I would have loved that. My last CJ-7 had the dual top and dual doors...I know they where soft doors. However, MY perfect Jeep would have been my 2014 Amp'd JKUR with the dual top, dual doors of half doors and full doors. So I ordered the black 3 piece top for my JKUR and full doors.

The dual doors, half and full would have made preparing space in the bonus room for door decor.
