My local dealer is running an "up to x amount over blue book for trade" deal and I've been trying to sell my truck for bluebook, thought, hell if I could trade for that value and Tread lightly guarantees 1% below invoice why not. Of course I would have to negotiate the two separately ....but I'm buying a HRE Rubicon in Anvil , which doesn't drop till July.

I highly doubt your dealer will honor both the trade deal and AR pricing. The trade in deal is a gimmick, part of the shell game dealers play with numbers on unsuspecting buyers. Think about it, why would they give you a value for your trade that they then can't sell the vehicle for? They Give you more for your trade but nail you on the new vehicle sales price. They are pros at this, they'll get their money one way or annother

They also get paid from Chrysler to sell the Jeep...and they'll nitpick the trade-in.

Thanks for that info, I guess I was thinking that the Tread Lightly deal was a guaranteed 1% below invoice and if I used that as the starting price for my trade in deduction then I could have a win win....but in car buying I suppose win wins are a farse lol...

Sounds like there is still conflicting views on whether Dark Saddle is available on the Hard Rock.

If production starts 9/9 on Tank, is there a date established that it will be open to order?

Thanks for all the awesome info!!!

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

After 18 months of not having my '08 Sahara Unlimited, I can't take it anymore and I'm looking at either a manual Rubicon or Rubicon Hardrock w/alpine package and leather... i have a few questions...

1.) Is it worth it to have Max Tow and am I losing anything else besides the ability to tow? I've never towed anything and don't expect to in the future. Judging from everything I've seen online, the Rubicon packages have a lot of parts and capabilities stock and that it only takes a harness and receiver that cost about $100 + my time.

2.) I rarely took my Sahara off-road or with the full hard top off because it was my first brand new vehicle I ever bought, plus living in an apartment I never had a place to store the top. Now that I have a house, I plan on building a hoist in the garage as well as having more fun with it. I'm guessing the leather will be fine getting wet, but are the speakers, nav and sub waterproof if I catch the random afternoon storm in Houston? Judging from the sub pics, it looks like it's protected.

3.) Dumb question and I assume no, but is the sub in the storage bin the only option, or will they have an alternative similar to the older style. It seems the bins on newer Jeeps were redesigned and better than the '08. I frequently used the storage bin and never complained about the cubic foot loss caused by the sub.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Information Thread

I've read the whole thread and have yet to see anything mentioned...

Over on the [cough, cough] other forum, someone is spouting that the front bumper on the 2015 has changed. Fog lights are supposed to have been moved. Is there any truth to this? If there is, I must have totally blanked on it and I can't find it now that I'm looking...

Thanks, guys!

If I remember correctly..... have heard the front bumper is stronger and more winch friendly. Steel bumpers on hard rock front and back. Would assume the bumper would be ready for a winch, but you never know. Maybe Milous, Pat or some of the other experts are on line. Don't remember where I saw the info either, so could have been rumor or actual fact. Not sure about fog lights

The rubicon X bumpers have always been steel with a spot for a drop in front winch. I'd be interested to know if the normal front bumper is also stronger.

Not true, same bumper as 10A and Rubicon X.
