Audio system question...
I'm planning to buy a JKUHRR. What would I gain or lose by ordering the cheapest head unit and replacing with an aftermarket nav unit vs. buying one of the factory units?
If there is a better forum for this please let me know.

I read that the JKUHRR has stiffer springs in the front. Is there enough difference to notice it in the ride when road driving? Most of my mileage will be rural roads.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. Hoping I won't have to spring for the upgraded sound system as well since I'll likely replace everything with Marine stuff.

EDIT: I'm not positive, but maybe the EVIC system has something to do with the head units? Maybe someone else better experienced could answer that one? I have no idea if it routes anything through the head units.

So hopefully that is still all in the cluster but I'm not an owner yet, just from what I've seen from buddies and the test drives.

If I remember right from my own research, the X (now HRR) comes with the connectivity group standard and it is separate from the 130 and 430N head units. But with the 730N it is built into the head unit which is why the upgrade to the 730N isn't as expensive as on other Wrangler models.

So to answer your question, you should be fine because you won't lose the connectivity group when you yank out the 130 head unit. That's my understanding at the moment.

The factory 430N and 730N will display the NAV directions on the EVIC. I believe you'll loose that function if you use any after-market head unit.

Is that out the door price or before tax/title/tags/destination charge? If that's OTD price, fora Hard Rock JKU w/ the options you listed it looks like a good deal to me. I don't have the exact cost for those options yet but going off of the '14s that looks to be under 1% below invoice.
