Hi All!
Been gone for 5 years!
But I'm back, just ordered a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited - Rubicon Hard Rock in Tank!

Now comes the wait.

Mike

Replacing 2012 Red Unl Sahara optioned almost the exact same way. Didn't get tow package as I don't need the 3.73. Got a local place that will install a hitch and wire it pretty cheap.
Hope it's here by year end, but, OK if it isn't.
Didn't go with the group buy dealer. Went to another dealer that still gave good price, but, did much better on trade-in which more than made up the difference.
Went to CarMax and got an even better offer than the trade-in, however, in PA, when you do a trade, you only pay sales tax on the difference between the new car price and the trade value. If I would have sold to CarMax, I would owe sales tax on the entire new car price. It turned out to only be about $200 difference (trade in is better than selling to CarMax) and we don't have to deal with taking 1 car to the dealer 2 hrs away and bringing 2 cars home.
OK...I want to know which of you told my 2012 that I was getting rid of her. She threw a check engine light with p0459 code today!!! Guess it's time to replace the gas gap. I checked it and it's a little loose and won't really tighten.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

Finally, near the end of the wait !!! after 12 weeks of waiting,my jk 2 door (TANK) is on the train since 2h00 this pm.
I have a question: what does it mean on the build sheet:

"Special Sheduling Condition VII"
and
"custumer preferred package 2TB"
and
"FAM: JK TRACKING: 40407J23 MY: 2015"

the spring was optional equipement ?

Spring - Left Front
Spring - Left Rear
Spring - Right Front
Spring - Right Rear

thank to help me to understand that...

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

So I have a 3 inch lift with 35's on my new JKUR Hard Rock 6 speed and just hit 1500 miles since picking it up in late Sept. Pretty much all of my miles are highway with very little traffic and so far I am averaging 12 mpg. I knew I would lose some with the lift/tires, but even at that it seems pretty low. Anything I am missing something?

Have you reinstalled the stock tires and run a few tanks worth of gas?

A JK Sport owner is happily driving around the Delaware/Maryland area on my stock Rubi wheels/tires... maybe he took a few MPG with him !

That sucks, I wonder why you had such a long wait, did you order just a plain Jane sport? It only took 35 days total start to finish for me.

Did you recalibrate the system so it knows you have bigger tires? If not the odometer thinks you're rolling fewer miles than you really are.

Yeah, I have the AEV ProCal... I might have to just reset it to factory and then calibrate it again. I'll try that Sat morning and see how it turns out!

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

I just wanted to let everyone know that I absolutely hate my pentastar/manual combo in my Wrangler. Even with the low gearing of the rubicon(4.10) the engine just doesn't have enough low end torque. The clutch doesn't handle much slippage to compensate for it also. I've noticed it mostly while towing and mild off-roading. In several situations I had to use low range because I couldn't get the vehicle moving. BTW, this is the stinkiest clutch I've ever smelled. This is not my first manual either, I traded in a 03 rubicon for this and I haven't even owned an automatic vehicle for myself. My wife drives a 13 grand cherokee overland and I have never experienced this issue. I never thought I would've regretted getting a manual.

Sorry to hear that. I know the much beloved 4.0 straight six was known for low end torque but it only put out 220 lb/ft. I'd really like to see a dyno chart comparing the two to see if the old engine is really that much torquier at 2,000 revs or if the new engine is just so much stronger on top that it feels soft down low. Not sure what you were running in your 03 but your combo is what I am going to order in my new 2015 so I hope I have better results.
