re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

I ordered my new 2015 JK Unlimited Hardrock on 4/28. How can I track the status of the build with the VOTS system down?

I loved it when I pulled up my dealer's website and it showed my Jeep in their new inventory as "this vehicle is in transit." Too bad for anyone who might have saw it and thought to themselves "I want that Jeep when it arrives."

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

Anyone have any insight as to why some vehicles in D1 have estimated delivery dates and some don't?

For example there are JKs ordered a week after mine with a D1 status a week after mine and they have an EDT, while I am still in TBD land.

Is it color? Model?

The suspense is killing me.

re: 2015 Wrangler JK Waiting Room

Looks like I'll be a Jeep owner again soon! I put my order in on the 18th.

2015 JKURHR
Billet Silver
Automatic
4.10 gears
Air Bags
430N
Dual Top (black)

My very first vehicle when I was 16 was a 76 CJ5 Golden Eagle with seats that were 99% duct tape. lol I didn't have a Jeep again until college when I bought myself a sweet blue 78 CJ7 that I ended up putting a LOT of money into (new seats, soft top, wheels, tires, suspension .... a lot of money considering my wife and I were going to UT on our own dime). Both Jeeps had that 3-speed V8 that just roared when you got on it. I put a dual Cherry Bomb exhaust on my 76 that came out right in front of the back tires. Man that thing was loud!

My current two cars is a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan that I drive the wheels off of and a 2006 Pathfinder (which I hate). When I bought my G35 forever ago it was the most powerful sedan available in my price range. Surprisingly, it had more get up and go then the BMWs or the Lexus cars (again, in my price range ... I couldn't afford an M-series back then). And I push that car to its limits quite often. I also put an aftermarket double-din dash kit in a few years ago so I could put a 7" touchscreen stereo system in it. I'm really looking forward to having that same big screen setup in the Jeep.

I can't wait to own a Jeep again and I hope the experience is going to be similar to those old CJs. I technically still own the 78 but it's a long and depressing story that I'd like to forget about. And now that I have 3 kids I had to go with the Unlimited instead of rebuilding that old CJ7, although I'm still really considering it.

If you've never had the experience of owning one of those old V8 CJs, you are really missing out. Talk about complete stress-free trail blazing! I had those things in so many places with so many dings and scratches in the paint that when you're walking out in the morning to go to school or work you just smile and think "yeah, I remember that one!" Man, to be young and dumb and carefree again...

So the question now is whether I should go ahead and put a lift on it with new tires and maybe wheels or should I run it stock for a while? Every time we see a Jeep that's lifted, my wife says "That looks good, is that what ours is going to look like?". There are 3 or 4 dealerships around here and not a single one has a stock Rubicon. I don't want her to be disappointed. I'll post this in a more relevant place but I'm thinking of a 2" lift and 35s and either staying with the 17" wheels or going up to an 18 ... solid black of course. We have a long trip (all highway, unfortunately) coming up and I'd like to take the Jeep and I don't know if it would be better to wait for the new bigger tires or just go ahead and get them now.

But that's a discussion for another thread. I just wanted to post here that I'm excited to finally be a part of the club again!

It's here! Sort of . . .

My dealer is two states away and I am making a road trip out of picking it up. The sales guy did send me this picture however.

Ordered a JKU 24W on 5/23. Salesman just called and gave me my VIN. Time to pony up for a membership here, so I can track the build.
