Wonder if anyone else has noticed something similar. Brought the car to my dealer for an oil change and supplied 6 qts of my own Mobil One. Picked the car up, drove two miles and pulled over to check the oil. Dip Stick was BONE DRY! Drove back to my dealer, and in front of my eyes, they added a Half Quart that was left from the 6 I brought, and the dip-stick read FULL!!! I Can't believe that when the car is only a half quart low, the dipstick reads EMPTY??
I have changed my own oil for many decades, and I have found many vehicles that the dip stick reads "full" even though I haven't poured the full amount of oil that spec'ed in the manual.
I chalked it up to there is some residual oil left. Or that the filter hasn't filled up quite yet.
