My 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock with 9,000 miles, has developed a "rattle" which seems to be coming from the mid to lower area of the steering column enclosed portion (signal lever, key, etc.) or lower portion of the instrument cluster. Only happens when going over very rough roads or a severe bump. I've tried sticking my hands everywhere while it's happening to try and isolate where it's coming from, but have had no luck. Brought it to the dealer, they test drove it, confirmed the noise, but said it "could be so many things", they chose to go no further. Very frustrating on a $48k vehicle.
Anyone else experience anything like this or have any suggestions how my best way to proceed would be? Can't live with this for years. It's really sapping all the driving pleasure out of the vehicle for me!
My 2013 just started doing this at 28000 miles. Same here, makes me want to dump it. I bought a scope to try and look around in there.. couldn't find anything obvious. It sounds like its coming from inside the instrument cluster. I think its enclosed..
If your dealer wasn't willing to tear it apart, it doesn't say much for Jeep warranty work. I wish I had a service manual...
