Wow, good point. It never occurred to me that 2016 will be Jeep's 75th Anniversary.

Its a sure bet that there will be special models in celebration, but I haven't heard a thing about such. Maybe PCP will finally début on such?

PS: Just read a post from Milous, apparently its calendar year oriented, not model year. So, we'll see the 75th in "Spring/Summer 2016, (as a) 2017 model year."

They built 70th Anniversary Edition vehicles in the 2011 MY.
Counting on my fingers I'd say 75th AEs will be on 2016 MY platforms. Now, they might be built as later in the MY so that they hit the road in CY 2016.
Anyway I just wondering out loud.

Re: 2016 Wrangler Information

In 2016, about all that you will see is some color changes.
2017 will have the aluminum Body on Frame.
There will be a new Vendor building the steering linkage, along with a Aluminum Steering gear box.
The solid axle will still be retained for 2017.

Chrysler/Jeeps challenge, is to comply with the FEDS, fuel economy mandate...

Re: 2016 Wrangler Information

I wouldn't expect any major changes until the entirely new Wrangler comes out in 2017 as a 2018. Jeep isn't going to spend heavy amounts of R&D for just one product year on an existing model that sells like crazy. You might see some new colors and a coupe different versions of existing models, but that's about it. Mostly the usual year-to-year changes.

Correct. We had a 65th anniversary Commander that was a 2006 model year. So the 2016 Wrangler should be badged 75th.

Also, the same CEO that said 2018 has also recently said 2017 on record. So nobody knows exactly when it'll be out. But...the mayor of Toledo has been working hard to keep production there and he just suffered a heart attack apparently so who knows if that will play into the time frame of things or not.

Bottom line is that the 2016 Wrangler will have color changes here and there and a few package changes. That's about it.

Re: 2016 Wrangler Information

Very cool. I was thinking of getting a 2015, but just may hold out until the 2016 model information is available, especially if there is an anniversary model (recognizing it is probably just special appearance items, but given the choice it would seem like a nice to have).

Re: 2016 Wrangler Information

I have some hopes for a 75th Anniversary. The Rubicon 10A introduced some worthy components (the basis of the current "Hard Rock" as a matter of fact) and I thought the red leather with Anvil or Billet Silver was a striking combination.
Its probably way late in the planning cycle for Jeep and I haven't seen them come on the websites asking for design inspiration (which I think would be a nod to the Jeep faithful) but here goes my two worthless cents.

The 2 door wrangler should be a big nod to the MB. 1/2 doors. Rich OD canvas tops. Anvil is close to the blue/gray the Navy liked in WWII. An OD for the Army / USMC / Army Air Corps. Dark blue for some models the USAF had when it came into being in the late 40s. A flat fender design, steel bumpers, some kind of flat SE wheel that looks like the original (maybe similar to the modern overland type used on those rigs)... OD color heavy duty fabric seats that has rich tactile texture to them. I guess the current Willys editions are close to that. Special order lettering if you wish. (They started custom terrain inspired hood decals last year).

A somewhat official looking slide posted at the link below also confirming 2016 as the year for the 75th anniversary models.
