I almost gave up & purchased one a month or so ago but when looking into how much it would cost to paint it - it just wasn't an option for me. Anvil would have been my 2nd choice.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Getting frustrated............

Got a call from the dealership late this morning, stating that the Hard Rock that we had ordered, came in this morning. Due to the fact that I am 125+ miles away I had asked him to take couple of pictures and e-mail them to me when he got a chance.

Everything look good and I was very excited !!

Until the next phone !

The salesman called to apologize for the delay of the pictures. The reason for the delay was because when he went to snap the pictures he realized it was not the correct vehicle.

After some investigation, he found that the vehicle did not match the invoice. It had my name on it along with all the correct options listed including the Hard Rock Pkg., but it is just a Rubicon and NOT a "Hard Rock".

So...................

At his point.

They are trying to find one in transit (that well match what I had ordered) and do a dealer exchange.

OR

Here is the bad news !!!

Will have to re-order it.
!@#$ we placed the order back on July 22nd.

End of rant...........back to drinking more BEER

Sorry.....gotta continue..............

Salesman just called.....stated that the screw up is on Jeeps end of the deal and that he has been in touch with his direct rep. and that they are looking into possibly being able to fast forward an order for me, But , I'm still looking at another 2-3 weeks.

OK..............now back to drinking

Possibly ArcherAce could offer us some insight on how this can happen, get shipped. Shouldn't quality inspection have caught that the vehicle built didn't match invoice/order/sticker?

I agree, especially since it was supposed to be a Hard Rock but was a regular Rubicon. I wonder if there's a Hard Rock out there somewhere with a regular Rubicon sticker on it? That would be a nice thing to have happen, though not at Blu_Rubi_16's expense!

We always complain that the Jeep dealer right next to the school my kids go to seems to get their deliveries right when school lets out. Guess what happened today?

Yup, that's ours. First 2016 Pictures?

Don't take this as fact as to what happened. I can only give my opinion.

It had to of happened in the paperwork, long before the build process started. If it was built as a standard rubicon, then that's what the paperwork called for. There are far to many stations in the build to allow a wrong build to happen.

Consider that the bodies and frames are built in two separate buildings. They come together in trim where they are bolted together or "decked". The chances of body mistakenly installing a standard hood and framing installing standard bumpers is, well, 0. Not to mention that it would have been routed to me for hard rock hood decals. We'd of noticed that it was not built as a HRR.

My point is that one wrong part is a mistake in the build, if the whole thing was built as a standard rubicon, someone screwed up the order

Thanks. The dealer prep guy(s) apparently left for the day before they had it off the truck, so it's going to be tomorrow before I get my hands on it.

AcherAce...........Thanks for your input,
I figured it was in the paperwork somewhere. I could stand here and point fingers all day long, but you know what, I'm kind of glad this has happened. This will give me more time to save money towards aftermarket parts

Congrats CO_04_RUBI

In college I worked at a Chevy dealer. One time we got in an S10 that had regular trim on one side and upscale chrome trim on the other. Two packages on one truck. Another time we got in a few Corvettes that had the wrong stitching on the steering wheel and shifters(yellow stitching!). This was in 1998 when they had the pace car. So crazy stuff can happen, they turn out a lot of Jeeps everyday
