re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Hi everyone, new member and new unlimited hard rock owner! I was waiting on the model refresh but after hearing it was pushed back I bit the bullet on my first jeep. I purchased a 2015 model and wanted to know besides colors if anything else changed between 15-16? Reason I didn't wait is I got almost %20 off! Msrp on loaded hard rock was 48k(ALL options except hood lock and duel top) but they through in duel top(had three new ones in shop for some reason) and got it for bit over 42k!(I also bought the lifetime warranty, thoughts?)
Mine's silver with the obvious red hard rock accents. Any advice on adding additional red throughout. Was thinking about red grill mesh and powder coating to the silver on wheels red(leaving the black) etc.
Thanks

The only changes I'm aware of between 2015 and 2016 are a shorter powertrain warranty (60K miles instead of 100K miles) and the 730N radio is no longer available for the 2016MY. Obviously there are color differences too.

Do we know which models this will be offered on, or any restrictions?

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Hey Milous:

I've read this entire thread (yup, I'm that kind of guy). I can't remember seeing a discussion on this; but, I'm getting older, so I may have just missed it; or, I can't remember.

Anyway, I have a 2008 JK lifted/locked/&tc. with 119K miles on it. But, I'm very excited about that Xtreme Purple Pearl and am considering selling my old Jeep and buying a new one. I'm planning on keeping this new Jeep stock for the first My question is this (I know ... finally): I'd like the stoutest spring rate available from the factory for a Rubicon Unlimited; so, do I have to order the max tow group to get these? I carry lots of recovery gear; so, I need the springs that will carry the max load. And BTW, I don't like the leather seats; so, I can't use a Rubicon Unlimited Hard Rock.

Sorry for the rambling.

Thanks, jp

No, Max Tow really does nothing but add the tow hitch and wiring.

Don't think you missed anything- I've read it all and only remember a little about springs. If you didn't add that last part, I'd have had some sort of an answer for you, but alas... I am betting as soon as you step down from the Hard Rock, you'll go down a spring rate- I believe the extra weight of the bumpers creates the need for the stronger springs. A buddy of mine has a 2014 Rubicon and put a Hard Rock bumper and winch on his and it sags about an inch under the added weight. I'd say keep your eyes open for somebody that lifted their RHR and make a deal on their springs. Swapping for a factory supplied spring is kind of stock, no?

Good idea. What about the shocks? Are the RHR shocks longer too? I think that RHR is about 1/2 inch higher that the R. So, would I need the stock RHR shocks too?

I'd like the RHR except for the leather seats and the extra rock slider. I don't like getting mud on my pants every time I get in & out of the Jeep. I've bashed the Rubicon slider on my Jeep several times & never slid off and mashed the sheet metal.
