Wow that is outstanding news, perhaps having it removed is not such a swell idea considering who knows what it is covering up!

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

***I NEED YOUR HELP JEEPERS

Milous/Archer and fellow jeepers,

I am glad to say I am finally joining the Jeep family. I factory ordered my Rubicon Unlimited in GCM on 9/24 through my local dealer. However, I have a couple questions that need clarification because my dealer did not explain it right.

They told me that though I ordered on 9/24 they used up all their allocation for this month and that my car would be processed/built (i forgot the terminology they used) in the beginning of October (probably they mean Oct 8 allocation if I'm not mistaken from what I'm reading.)

I am also understanding that GCM is not going to be produced until Oct 26?

So these are my questions that need clarification.

1.) When will I get my VON? During the next allocation or when the car is actually built or after Oct 26 (when GCM is actually produced)? And how do I get my VON from the dealer?

2.) Does this mean I need to wait for Oct 26 (GCM production date) for my car to be built or can they just build the car before the 28th and paint it when GCM goes into production? Basically, will the Oct 26 GCM production date delay the build of my Jeep even though I ordered on 9/24.

3.) A rough estimate production time? If I ordered 9/24 for GCM, and it is produced on 10/26... and they gave me a rough estimate of 8-10 weeks for delivery. Is it from the time of order or from the time GCM is actually produced?

4.) A link to that website through jeepgarage where I can track the progress of my build for the $25 membership I've been reading on.

5.) What items do I need to make sure come with the Jeep when it is delivered. (I ordered dual top)
Below is the list I found please let me know if I'm missing something.
- Torx tool kit
- Freedom Top Storage Bag
- Soft top straps x4 (2 velcro and x2 snap loops)
- x4 jeep grab handles (ordered rubicon unlimited 4 door)
-Garment hook? <--- I don't even know what package this is suppose to come with
- Trail kit = What does this "trail kit" compromise of?
- All paperwork, window sticker, and VINVISION report (what is a vinvision report) and how do I make sure they don't throw it away

I have been researching this jeep for over a year now and finally ordered my Wrangler. As you can tell, each detail is important to me and your guidance is much appreciated. Basically, I just wanna know when my jeep will be built and when I can expect it.. but if any of you can just clarify these questions for a new member of the Jeep Family it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

lemlem89

The current schedule has Oct 26 as the first date for Granite builds. No, they will not build it now, and paint it later. And it doesn't mean that yours will be amongst the first built on Oct 26 (it could be, but we just don't know).

Orders for your dealer typically might typically take 8 to 10 weeks. But I am sure that doesn't cover when the order has to sit around for both allocation and parts availability (in your case, paint).

The Trail Kit comes only with Hard Rocks and Willys. Yours is a regular Rubicon and thus will not have a Trail Kit. The grab handles and garment hook will be uninstalled, and probably in clear plastic bags stored away in the center console.

Buying a membership here, and the perk of tracking (Access to Milous Vehicle Tracking), is mentioned over in this forum: http://www.jeepgarage.org/payments.php

It only takes 24-48 hours to build a Jeep...it will sit in D-1 status until everything is ready then it'll hit KZ in a flash (compared to D-1 time and ship time).

This is something that Willys and HR people do need to remember- my salesman didn't put our kit in our HR upon delivery, I told him to go to parts and get it for me.

The kit is real nice- made by Warn for Jeep. It's a red and black bag with Jeep logo, two shackles, a pair of gloves and a recovery strap. I bought a similar kit way back in 2004 from a 4wd supplier that was made by Warn and they still sell variations on this kit, so don't worry if you bought a Jeep that didn't come with a kit- you can build your own from different manufacturers other than Warn or go with the Warn kit either way- you really can't go wrong with a few accessories like this. I added my winch remote, a tree saver strap, a snatch block and another snatch strap to my kit and feel pretty well prepared any time I leave the pavement.

You should have had a VON immediately. Since production has not yet begun, your order will sit for a while. Most likely in BE status with an error. I also have a GCM ordered.

Agreed- I ordered back in Aug I believe it was and even with them not even starting production for a month, they handed me a piece of paper with the VON on it right then and there. I'm not sure with the allocation bit tho- do you not get the VON until the next month's allocation if the dealer's used all their current, or do you still get a VON that counts against the following month's allocation?

That's what happen with mine. It went from D1, directly to KZ, overnight skipping all those pesky assembly steps.

It also stayed in KZ until I drove it home from the dealer.

I can't believe I'm willing to go through the pain of waiting for another Jeep . All of the knowledge is slowly creeping back in from last year around this time.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on #2...if only we knew more about XP.

Seems weird that you can order GCM (and which models it comes with) when it won't be in production for a while...and we still don't know about XP that can be ordered in a week and a half.

According to Milous....GCM is supposed to be in production 10/26 and Xtreme Purple the following week 11/2. If all is still good, 10/8 was the order date for XP. Now if we only knew if this was able to be ordered on all models..The Rubicon HR is what i'm waiting to hear about....as is MANY others.
