Maybe it's my hoping that it isn't Sahara based more than anything...

The guy before says it's twill, but you're describing as canvas? Those are two different materials to me. Canvas has a vinyl kinda feel to me.

Can someone just answer if the standard top feels and looks like same material as on any TJ soft top? and if it's as duarable. I wouldn't say those were plastic.

When ordering dual tops, does the soft top come in a separate box or is it on the Jeep underneath the hard top?

It comes mounted inside the hard top, packed and folded tight. One of the first things they tell you to do is to take that out.

It's feel a lot like the TJ tops only cheaper. I can't say how durable it is as I've never had a jk for more that a few hours.

I do recommend the premium top over the base.

From Mopar.com:

The Soft Top is made of either a tough, vinyl-coated cotton/poly blend or the new premium acrylic fabric providing thicker four-ply, tight, quieter ride.
Bestop makes the factory soft tops. You might get the most satisfactory answer by contacting them:

Or by stopping at a dealership to feel for yourself.

@buddastrat, it's becoming difficult to assist you in this thread. I think you'd get more quality answers if you started a new thread.

I wish I could, been to two dealers, and they only have hard tops on. One dealer is over an hour away, has a premi soft top on a rubicon. Almost went today.

I guess I could just wander around a mall or grocery store parking lots to find a JK soft top.... but I don't want to be feelin' up someone else's top. lol

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Okay back on topic for new info. how reliable are those dates for color production? I ask because I want to order rhino, but dealer says he can't place order because it's not in production and he tells me not till next year. He says I can order granite, though the info on first page it says granite is not in production until 10/26/15.

1st page shows rhino is scheduled for middle of Dec. Is that pretty solid? I'm wondering if an order is able to be placed earlier, or if that's not a solid date and chance it goes into production sooner like the granite seems to be.

Spot on.

I ask because I want to order rhino, but dealer says he can't place order because it's not in production and he tells me not till next year.

Cant order something that's not in production?

He says I can order granite, though the info on first page it says granite is not in production until 10/26/15.

Sound like he knows you want Granite and will tell you anything at this point.

1st page shows rhino is scheduled for middle of Dec. Is that pretty solid?

Yep.

I'm wondering if an order is able to be placed earlier, or if that's not a solid date and chance it goes into production sooner like the granite seems to be.

Cant order something that's not listed, somebody here gave his dealer his "list" with $ and instructed him to place the order as soon as it became avalible to order...

Ability to order a color typically begins an allocation (approx a month) prior to the guns spraying said color.

Granite is slated to begin spraying next week and became avail to order about 3 weeks ago.

Expect similar situation for the other colors slated to open.
