If so, then they are indeed "aftermarket" leather, which I believe @ArcherAce mentioned leave the factory to go straight to an outside vendor who installs the Katzkin leather covers.

And yes, they are indeed more gray than black in color. From @Lysol over in WF...

I'm such an idiot! When I first saw the photo, before reading the reply, I thought someone did custom white leather seats with abstract blue stripes! I thought...hmmm...that's one way to go...

:P

Thanks, Walt. Not knowing anything about the aftermarket one, I may just have to stick with the factory leather (AL).

How long does it usually take for the new model year to "officially" be included in the Affiliate Rewards Program? Currently, it still shows only the 2015 model. I'm worried when the time comes to get the Jeep it will become a problem.

I'm getting prices/quotes now and there's no issues with it. I think it's already fine.

My deal is based on the Affiliates Program too. Not an issue.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

So I downloaded the 2016 Wrangler brochure and looked for clues. Something jumped out at me. In the list of exterior colors, they listed Rock on the bottom with a picture of rock. I suppose this is a humorous easter egg and that's fine. Although if you look at the interesting colors of the face of rock they show I thought it'd make an interesting color concept. I did not see Tank or "Sarge Green" listed. I don't understand why the brochure or Jeep.com cannot display a decent picture of an interior with Olive seats... similar to the detail of a saddle leather interior they show. It took a member on here to find one at a dealer.

We took delivery 6 weeks ago of a 2016 using both the $500 discount mailer and an affiliate rewards discount- no issue using either.

Rubi....

I noticed in your notes that you had already ordered the Bartact seat covers for your new Rubicon. Can you tell me more about your decision to do this? I have been considering the exact same thing but go back and forth on "why do it day one". My wife keeps saying that if I was concerned about the fabric seats why didn't I just go ahead and get the leather. Any info will be appreciated. My 2016 is on order but has not arrived....

We got the leather, but wanted to protect it. I figure for the first couple years while our kids are so young and there will be kid seats on the seats, we needed something. I also would rather scrub seat covers than the leather seats when they get muddy footprints or whatever when we get out and have fun. I asked at the local 4wd shop, one of their guys showed me the Bartact covers on their Jeep, I researched a little and it was obvious they're kind of a gold standard. The install was pretty easy, the covers look great, and I don't have to worry about much of anything regarding the seats now.

...we're planning on keeping the Jeep as long as... I dunno, maybe 'til we die, so taking care of things just makes sense. We've had seat covers on our '04 since mid '04 and the seats (cloth in that one) underneath look great.

...so yes, I ordered the Trek Armor seat covers a couple weeks before the Jeep was even slated to show up because I wanted protection ASAP. I'll miss the leather here and there, but I'll feel better knowing that the seats will look great if/when I ever want to take out the covers. Every other car has leather exposed except for the Jeeps, so I won't miss leather too much...

Forgot- one of the biggest reasons I'm happy to have them is I hope they're cooler in the sun than the dark leather. Had the top off a couple times already and took a stack of towels to sit on the seats/console/steering wheel whenever the Jeep was to be parked in the sun...

Came up on this article- FCA's Pentastar V6 gets more power, efficiency for 2016

I'm wondering if these upgrades start coming in the Wranglers mid '16's? Are they already coming in the GC's?

I'm still not certain about trading in my TJ on a new JK order...pros and cons.. I think I could wait a bit for more HP and improved MPG.

Good morning all. Congrats to the GCM crowd starting to make their way through the line.

So in my never ending psychotic quest for Rhino info I came across this cars.com listing for a Rhino Cherokee. Still a bit tough to visualize from the exterior shots due to glare but if you go through the photos there is one of the open front door which I think shows the color pretty good.

I think not. If you want to play the odds, a Powerball ticket might be a surer thing.

If you look back a year ago at the rumor mill for '16, such was thought for the Wrangler too. With that, you'll see the '16 MY launch for the Wrangler slip and slip. It was nearly out to December 2015, and then suddenly snapped back to September, where it stayed. That snap back was Jeep deciding to drop the updated engine for the JK Wrangler.

For 2017? I guess we can start a new wishlist or rumor mill for that. Though, that would be the last year for the JK, and would Jeep invest the time and money for what would be a one year only run?
