If you look back a year ago at the rumor mill for '16, such was thought for the Wrangler too. With that, you'll see the '16 MY launch for the Wrangler slip and slip. It was nearly out to December 2015, and then suddenly snapped back to September, where it stayed. That snap back was Jeep deciding to drop the updated engine for the JK Wrangler.

For 2017? I guess we can start a new wishlist or rumor mill for that. Though, that would be the last year for the JK, and would Jeep invest the time and money for what would be a one year only run?
It'd be cool. Could also say since they're using it in one line, they'd streamline to use it in all the models to save on production costs. Did all the Jeep models use the same Pentastar engine for '14 and '15? I don't know. I was just curious.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Ok, reality check - having tried twice to order the Back Country with two different dealers and the option for the black 3-Piece hard top (MX3) and the body color 3-Piece hard top (MX1) appear, but the dealer can only select the MX1 ---- and this is where the reality check comes in:

In the latest order guide (10/19/2015), it shows that MX3 AND MX1 are in the Back Country Package - and if you look at the Dual top price for Back Country, it is much less than the Dual top price for the regular Sahara. Sooooo..... Does the package include both the black top and the body color hard tops? (Crazy, right, but that is how the order guide reads).

From my understanding, the black hardtop is standard, and the body colored hardtop is optional. The dealer can only select the body colored hard top as an option, because that is the only hard top that is optional.

The Back Country comes with a black hard top, and the Sahara comes with a soft top. I would expect the Dual Top price to be more on the Sahara because it needs to include a hardtop.

If you want Dual Tops and a body colored hard top, you need to select both options.

BTW, this post will self destruct if/when @Milous replies.

That makes so much sense -- Now to work on my dealer.

Maybe they finally added a cold air intake. Lol

A functional shaker scoop added to the Hard Rock hood?

So my dealer tried to put the order through and when we get to the hard top, it will not go forward without clicking the body color hard top, so there is no way around the body color; perhaps I need to find a new dealer. I suppose I could always get a black top separately...
