re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

The first Rhino was broadcast today and is sitting here in front of me. Holy crap its sweet!

My best description of it would be a mixture of black and anvil. If you are considering it, it's worth the wait.

If not, I will probably just order a 2 door Hard Rock. Until then I guess I will just keep monitoring this site for updates on any new special editions and quit asking questions.
IMHO, it has more to due with the potential sales. I am not as sure that an "ultimate Rubicon" would sell as well as a decaled-up'ed Sahara to the mall bunch.

Are we saying that the 75th will be Sahara based? I have been waiting for a special color in Rubicon. I do not want the matching fenders. Do all special edition Saharas come with matching fenders?

Webbie, read Milous' comments closer. He believes what's in the system right now is a test and anything about it could change including base model.

There has been a good case made here by several, that it will be Sahara based. Collectively, they make good sense to me. Until we learn something different from Jeep itself, I would not get my hopes up at all, that it will be anything else.

I can't think of any Sahara that didn't have the better fenders.

If fenders are the only thing stopping you, they can be switched out fairly easily. A lot of folks do it.

Looks aside as that's personal, durability wise I won't hesitate to get the body colored flenders on my next JK this spring. A few guys in our group here have them and those things must be covered with some kind of Chevy Chase snow sled coating. Tight Northeast trails with branches scraping by... no scratches. Easily cleaned, waxed, whatever.... mud almost falls off them. The black flenders are a pain to keep halfway decent looking and well, are a bit fugly and cheap looking imo.
I've heard the body colored flenders are painted and coated by an outside vendor. Im not sure about this, if so they do a great job and WOW are they more durable than I was led to believe by some posting here.

Yea, we need to GPS ear-tag @ArcherAce so that he can point the Google cameras to the correct vehicle out in the lot.

I'm still waiting to see a Back Country picture. I "think" I want it, but "think" is not enough for me to pull the trigger.

Nah. I don't think there will be any

I believe that with different cameras taking a picture and different monitors displaying it would not produce an acurate representation of the color. Also, it's one of those solid colors that look different depending on the light. Up close with my flashlight on it, it gives off a blueish hue.

A picture would just cause confusion, imho.

Troybarwick, there is a picture a few pages back of a back country in purple. It's just missing its Moab bumpers.
