Btw, if the back country is based on the sahara, and the locker is selected on top of the package, whats the point in buying a back country for the same price as a rubicon which already has f/r lockers and disco? Or am I missing something?

The back country is basically the same as last years X right? Will it have the same embroidering in the front seats?

I was looking at this yesterday - with all the options I want - it is $220.00 cheaper to get a Rubicon than the Back Country. . . only the Rubicon doesn't come in purple.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

I have question for the group...
I have talked to 2 separate sales managers at different dealerships and received the same information:

1. Their base MSRP is $400 higher than the jeep website.
2. They both said that they would get in trouble with Chrysler if they go below the FFP price.

I assume #1 is due to the leisurely pace at which Jeep updates their website. However, #2 sounds like BS. I called the affiliate help line and they said there is no such restriction.

Any advise would be appreciated.

That's why I'm hanging. Add in the cost to upgrade the axels and gears and it's just easier to wait and see what happens. If they close off XP so I miss the window...oh well.

If the rubicon is cheaper and it comes with more, thats a no brainer. I would never buy a purple vehicle, so thats no issue either.

It just seems jeep is shooting themselves in the foot making a lower model just as expensive with a special package as the next level up. Is the ONLY incentive to buy a BC just for the XP?

This is my only incentive. . . and with how hard it has been to even get a quote I am pretty close to giving up on that as well.

No HR hood. Moab bumpers. The "winter" decals replaced with that 70's style red lines.

I do like the bumpers but those decals have got to go!

That's being pretty mean towards that 5 yo who runs the site. I am sure he'll get around to it, after his nap of course.

BTW, I don't think the other auto companies do much better.

I discipline my children, no reason jeep shouldn't discipline theirs.

I wasn't referring solely to other auto manufacturers. In any segment of the market, if a company has a new release, it is available for purchase or configuration the day of its release. Not days or weeks later.

Seems my only real options are the black bear or a Rubicon. The hard rock is just sorely overpriced. And no, I don't think a fancy hood is worth it
