Thanks BeHappy It's a vinyl material that they stretch to fit and then they put heat on it to make it seal. The guy said it may scratch and possibly tear if I hit a big tree branch, but the nice thing is, if that happens, they just replace that section. I'll be taking it out off roading next week, so we'll see

I went through the same thing with my Baja. And I KNOW the owners of the Tank color really did. So many photos were put out that showed the Jeeps in brochures, but the color was completely different in person.

The best and closest gauge I found, was the "actual" color on another vehicle. Mine came in the way of the yellow used on the Challengers. Same color, different name.

Nothing will replace the human eye obviously. You can get some pics that are pretty darn close, but seeing in person is a whole different show.

Picked up 2016 wrangler brochure today. It lists "rock" as a color and shows what appears to be a slice of granite or slate. Anybody have the scoop on this color?

Again, someone is just having a bit of fun. I am sure that they assumed no one would attempt to take such seriously.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

I noticed lately that truecar.com gives us a new option on the 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock for leather seat color other then all black. Now there is black / dark saddle for seat choices. It's not on jeep.com site yet though. It used to be only black seats as available on the HRR using truecar.

Is this a mistake or will jeep soon offer the HRR in dark saddle seats like the standard rubicon?

Or maybe the green leather, Mohave Sand paint with a tan top for the 75th? Or dark saddle?

So I contacted Jeep customer service and asked about the "Rock" color listed in the 2016 brochure. They responded it's not an actual Jeep color but the color every Jeep is capable of when it's off road. The rock reflections seen in the paint are what make every jeep have "Rock" color paint.

Reference page 19 of the 2016 brochure and that pic has a slight rock reflection in the paint.
