Or three choices for leather like the Sahara.

$3310 by my count. I'll stick with a regular Rubicon. I don't need to show people I have a fancy hood and ugly grey leather seats.

Would more leather options be appreciated? Yes, of course.

Will Jeep acquiesce? Unlikely.

Its the Leather and Sound package on other models that comes with the "ugly grey leather seats". The HR comes with black leather.

I think in your calculation to get $3310, you're missing adding a lot of things onto the comparative Rubicon, and I bet including adding steel bumpers from Mopar.

That's just it, I would be removing all the factory stuff anyway. I don't need leather. I don't need a fancy stereo. I can get better rock rails. I don't need or want the steel bumpers. "Almost" everything you get on a HR is cosmetic, iirc. Sure the rock rails and the bumpers are a step up from normal, but I believe that's it. What performance upgrades does the HR come with? It's a wrangler after all, not a Mercedes.

I just don't see the point in spending extra on factory "stuff" that is just going to be replaced.

How do any of the HR upgrades assist in off road driving? Does it come with bigger axles, gears, drivetrain? If you're gonna take it to the mall and show your friends how cool you are, then yes, I see the point in a HR. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

Please explain

To each his own. I'm ordering a Willys because it has exactly the things I want, and none that I don't. Would I like to have a RHR? Sure. But it's not worth the money for me. There aren't any rocks here to climb. I don't off-road often enough to justify the extra equipment. And I certainly don't want black leather (or any dark leather) in FL! Order day moved to this Saturday.

Unless you're buying a fairly stripped down Rubicon, the Hard Rock is actually the better deal. You're getting $5,950 worth of stuff for $4,800 (on the two door based upon the September order guide). You can actually make a regular Rubicon more expensive than a Hard Rock and still not have the HR bumpers, hood, rails, etc.

God forbid someone enjoys their vehicle not only for its capability but also for how it looks.

Yep I've got an even fancier heat reduction hood but my seats are an ugly tan leather with stupid embroidered AEV logo rather than grey.

But it's all just for show at the mall.

Getting conflicting answers from different dealers.

I thought the Hard Rock Editions came with both the Premium Soft Top along with the 3 piece Freedom Hard Top. Correct?

One of the dealers is trying to tell me the soft top gets deleted and I'm trying to explain to him that it's the regular soft top that gets deleted and upgraded to a Premium Soft Top and then the hard top is added on for the Hard Rock Packages.

Who's correct here?

The Hard Rock gets upgraded to the Premium soft top, from the regular soft top that's standard on Rubicons.

The black hard top and the body-colored hard top are options on the Hard Rock. Either will delete/replace the Premium soft top unless you also order the Dual Top group/option too.
