If so I would prefer that to leather trim.
The Rubicon section step 4 (the step where you pick color and trim) no longer has the right column dedicated to the Hard Rock package and is for Rubicon models in general. In the leather section you can see that the Hard Rock code is listed there but not in the cloth section. Kind of hard to explain by typing, but hope this helps.

Anyone know when we'll see a Rhino in the wild (sorry) rather than just the swatch? Really anxious, hoping there is a noticeable amount of blue and that it's not metallic.

In an attempt to try and clarify this a little further, I believe Jesse is correct. The base Rubicon comes with cloth seats as standard equipment (S). The leather-trimmed bucket seats are an optional upgrade for a base Rubicon (W/2_R) for $1350. The Rubicon Hard Rock is a special Limited Edition (W/2_J) that comes standard with the leather-trimmed bucket seats, and downgrading from the package standard equipment is probably not possible.

Now, the 2016 order guide doesn't say explicitly that you can't get the cloth seats, but it is implied that you would be unable to downgrade. Is it impossible...sometimes dealers can make things like this happen...never hurts to ask. But when the Sales Launch hits in September and Build and Price goes live for 2016MY on Jeep.com, you will likely be unable to select cloth seats for the Hard Rock, and it won't be listed as an option in the 2016 Sales Brochure.

A little while ago, it was said that one now needed to intentionally/ specifically "check" the no-cost option of 71M to get the kit. Was this simply one of those odd ordering glitches, or a new requirement?

Of that, I don't know. There was definitely a lot of discussion over the course of 2015MY concerning dealerships having little idea about the Tow Strap Kit (or even the new model-wide standard Torx kit). As far as I know, if you ordered a 15 Willys or HR, it was part of standard equipment and would be sent to the parts department automatically, no box tick required. Has that changed...I don't know. Someone else who has ordered recently will have to confirm that. At some point during 2015MY, the Tow Strap Kit became a N/C selectable option, and some people were even claiming that they were able to score one for free by having the dealer choose it when ordering, even if they weren't getting a Willys or HR. During the 15 run, it started showing up on Edmunds and TrueCar as a N/C option. I would imagine that Jeep was trying to change the way they handled the Kit ordering and distribution? Maybe they will start coming inside the vehicles for 2016MY instead of to the parts dept? The 2016 ordering guide only lists the Tow Strap Kit as standard equipment; it does not list is as an available option, free or otherwise.

Does keep routinely delay production on colors? If so how long is the typical wait?

I'm so confused! Hyper Green isn't even on the ordering guide? That means not available at all?

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

My 21 year old son just ordered his first new vehicle today.
16' Sahara unlimited with 3:73, leather, sound system upgrade, connectivity, hard top with headliner, nav, sup bags, auto, Tank/black.
I'm more excited than him.

I'll be ordering my toy the second the order banks open for the redesigned Unlimited. I'm hoping they release it with a diesel option for personal $hits and giggles.
I am personally hoping for a return of Rock Lobster.
Great sight.
