re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Also wanted to throw this up here. To me this is what Jeeps are all about, a smile and an emotional connection. This is my lil guy and his 2016 "Hurricane Edition" Wrangler, box says it has twin Hemi's. It's a beast to him. He loves it and will tell you all about his "Jip" and then point and tell you all about "Dada's Jip." Yes, I do realize it is too big for him, but come on it matched mine too good so there was no way it wasn't ending up under the tree

jeepsmall.jpg

Holidays were busy but I skimmed over the last few pages and saw where some negative stuff was bubbling up. Yes, price increases and all of that sucks but that is everywhere(don't even get me started on the Disney vacation I am about to take.) Take it from a guy who sold his soul for 2 years and leased a Camry Hyrbid back in 2009, my attempt to be a responsible adult. The fit and finish on that car was great and I am sure I could have gone 100's of thousands of miles with little to no issues, but that car had no soul to it. Dad raised me to be a car guy and after that brief Camry experiment I realized just how much driving a vehicle you are passionate about matters. We wouldn't be here if we weren't passionate about Jeeps but lets leave the to politicians and reality TV.

You can see the Press Release and videos/images here:

http://media.fcanorthamerica.com/new...?id=17200&mid=

Watch the video - it shows each 75th model in their respective "Jeep exclusive" green color.

From the press release:

Quote:
"All 75th Anniversary special-edition models will be available in Jeep-exclusive Green exterior paint (Sarge Green, Recon Green or Jungle Green, depending on model)":
So according to the video these are the colors on each model:

Jungle Green - Cherokee
Sarge Green - Wrangler
Reocn Green - Renegade

Well...damn...been saving and waiting for over 2 1/2 years for the 75th Anniversary Edition and after seeing the photos of it, I am not overwhelmed. I was holding out hope for something more Rubicon-like. (I guess more like the Red Rock Edition) I read on the 1st post by Milous that there might be other special editions released later in the model year, so not sure what to do now...wait and see if other editions are released or go ahead and shop for a Rubicon Hard Rock 2-door.

I am still trying to figure out if "Jeep exclusive" is intended to also mean "75th model exclusive"; at least for the Wrangler.

There will always be yet another special edition. So, if you're waiting to see them all before buying, you'll be waiting a very, very long time.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe for the first year like Anvil on the 2013 10A and then open to all models the following year?

Took the words right out of my mouth pretty much and yes, a rear locker would go a long towards helping me make a decision. Gotta say though... the 75th looks sharp. The wheels, bumpers, hood.... I like it. Sarge green looks to be exactly what I was hoping for too. Then again, a Hard Rock JK in Sarge.... sounds pretty damn sweet to me.
Thanks to everyone here for posting all the links and photos.... too cool guys.
