Yes... they've been floating this .... for a while. I am not sure why the factory would go through the trouble of "50". Just offer the components as a kit.

Yeah I am tracking on that I just thought it was odd they put a phone number out. Is it Jeep's regular number or are they really going to look for buyers that way?

My guess is if they are going to produce 50 they are probably already spoken for. Also the "production will include some of the features" will mean that it will only be potentially disappointing for the people who pay the serious premium for that thing.

I don't get it (I prefer the idea of getting a canvas and making it my own) but I'm not in the financial class where I could afford the markup of that thing anyway.

I tried calling that number, and its for the "Jeep Red Rock Office", and they are currently closed. "Please call back during regular business hours".

I would be interesting if its a for-real way to buy one, or simply a marketing ploy, with someone steering toward buying a regular Wrangler (the ol' bait and switch).

Hmmm... maybe they're gauging public interest? Building 50 is useless.... make it 5000 to have some impact.

I know... I'm just upset with Jeep and the ugly decals because my wife wouldn't even look at the Back Country for even a second because of the decals - even though I tried to explain that they'd peel off. I like the bumpers and the locking rear axle. I tried to steer her towards a black Back Country JKU

(She's shopping for a Jeep that will be in her name so I have minimal say, "You already have your Jeep" she says )

Well if it helps - here is a picture without the decal. The decal was easier to take off than it was to add the new stickers I put on. My husband was iffy when I bought it because he has a Rubicon & wanted me to get the same. Now he said he is a little jealous. I was iffy on the seats but we are both loving them as well.

From everything we know today, I believe the JL and JT will remain a solid axle.

The independent front suspension might be just something a "troll" created.

foxhedge,

I see you switched out the wheels and tires, but did it have the factory BFGs with the white letters in or out - I've seen both in pictures?

White letters were in. The place I took her to for the new tires gave me $750.00 off my cost for the factory ones.
