re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Hi All, I'm about to place a factory order for a 2016 Unlimited Rubicon in Rhino and after looking through the order guide that Milous provided compared to the configurator on Jeep.com, I was wondering if anyone could lend your expertise to answer a couple basic questions that I have to make sure I do this right.

Here's what I'm looking to confirm...

1. I want the Black 3 piece Hardtop and Premium Black Soft Top on the Rubicon.

A. Can I order these separately using the part codes from the order guide or do I have to order them together as the Dual Top Group? Total FWP (Factory Wholesale Price) for ordering both separately is $614 less than ordering them together under the Dual Top Group. Is this the same thing product wise so no need to pay more for the Dual Top group? I just want to make sure I don't miss out on the window tinting or anything like that.

B. Also, out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know if the Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top is the same thing as the aftermarket Bestop Supertop NX Twill soft top that retails for $1,499.00? They "look" to be the same exact product, but I'm not sure.

2. I want the Rubicon Cloth Seats and the Alpine 9 speaker system w/ all weather subwoofer on my Jeep.

A. On the Jeep.com configurator the only way to add the Alpine system to the Rubicon is by selecting the Mopar Premium Sound and Leather option. My concern is that the Mopar Premium Sound and Leather option means they will also install leather seats, which I don't want, and I will pay FWP $939.00 more as well even if they don't install the leather seats.

B. As such, can I/should I just order them separately to get the Rubicon Cloth Seats and Alpine speaker system? I'm not losing any other features by doing this am I and I'll be saving FWP $939.00, correct?

Thanks in advance for your help! I've learned so much over the past few months reading through all the posts. All you forum members really are the subject matter experts on all things Jeep!

When you order the hardtop, it automatically deletes the softtop. You need to also order the dual top to get the softtop back. That's the only way to get both.

On the Jeep.com configurator, are you sure you are looking under the Options page, and then the Interior tab (note it shows the Exterior tab first)? I see the AlpineŽ Premium 9-Speakers w/All Weather Subwoofer option at the bottom of the first column.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Thanks for the response. That's correct, it must be ordered as the Dual Top Group to get both. No other way around it.

Regarding the Jeep.com configurator Interior Options page to add the Alpine Sound system, I've done that too several times over the past month, but on my browser for me at least, when I finish the build the results page changes the selection to Mopar Premium Sound and Leather. I gave Koons the codes from the order guide that Milous provided and they corrected it on an updated build sheet so I'm all set.

Koons has been great to deal with. Specifically, Erica Ramsey has been very helpful! Placed my factory order with her this afternoon and received my VON 15 mins later. Now the wait begins...

Me too. (Passat TDI replacing with GC). June 21st should be the announcement of the buyout/compensation from Judge Breyer. 30 days of public comment and then ratification of the deal (say around July 21st). Figure at least a month or two before you can turn in your car, say September-ish...

Hey Archer...if you see a Mohave Sand 2 door HR with a soft top come down the line, give him an "atta boy" for me!

I have heard that Mohave is no longer available. Is this true? I lost sarge green when they ended it early also... Had my second choice Mohave, so I was safe though. How often does FCA just discontinue colors like this?
