I do not think traffic is possible either on the 430n. Other than that, the 430n navigation is by Garmin, which I believe is a good thing. It is pretty easy to use.

Its tough to sort through the general discussion to actually find 2016 Wrangler Information updates as they come to light.

Any reason the pricing / tech / general info stuff can't be moved to their own threads?

Milous keeps the original post updated (includes a date when last updated as well) with the pricing/tech/general info as he gets it. The commentary does it a bit off topic here and there, but that front page is where you'd want to look for the details as they come out.

The Chrysler Affiliate reps told me that the 2016 Wrangler isn't an eligible vehicle. Is it safe to assume that is because sales haven't officially launched yet, and when they do it will be eligible?

It's either pay a couple hundred more, vs. losing about 2k in resale by buying the 15'.

If you are buying clean deal, don't negotiate, simply take command and tell your dealer what you are going to pay.
Sometimes buyers forget that they hold ALL the cards..ALL the cards.
Invoice price is always a given, but you could probably split the hold back with them, which would make it somewhere around $700.00 under.

$2k in depreciation? Hardly....trade in value on my wife's 2013 with 45k miles on it was only $3k less than we paid 3 years ago....and I kept the hard top.

I could be wrong here, but I'm thinking the answer is that your dealer showed you a trade number off of MSRP. Between holdback, financing kick back and mark up from invoice, an extra three grand can be hidden right there..
I am no expert, but I base my opinion from numbers off of auction sale sheets which reflects actual market value in my area.
No doubt Jeep resale is stronger because of Jeeps refusal to rebate, but they aren't exactly hard to get, or suffer from dramatic yearly price increases, or short on allocation. I think we have to ask ourselves, At what point does it defy common sense to pay an almost brand new price for a three year old vehicle ready for wear part replacement?
If everyone could trade up every three years at a cost of less than $100 a month for owning the vehicle, keep a 1k hard top, AND put 45k on the clock, the used jeep inventory would be massive..

This thread is no longer about 2016 updates. Last couple pages have been "how much should I pay" and "Which Nav system can I use to find my way around the town I've lived in for 10 years."

Kind of quiet around here if there aren't any updates... people are just keeping the conversation going. Also, seeing as how the 730n is not available with the 2016 MY conversation re the 430n is very relevant. Stick around dude... the more the merrier.

I am looking forward to seeing the info on the Anniversary Edition. Hope it's not only black though...already have a Wrangler Unlimited and a Liberty both in black.

iPhone just blitzed most of my post, so I'll re type in a moment.

I actually do have a friend that has traded his Jeep almost yearly (dark forest green, then Commando, now Tank). I don't ask him his personal business, but as he's a finance guy, I doubt he's blowing money on the deals.

re: 2016 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Unfortunately, my wife was trading her Jeep for a minivan, so we'll see the depreciation next time she wants something new...but, had 3 consecutive dealers offer $26k for a Jeep that we paid $29k for. We negotiated the van to KBB private party value and walked with a check for a few thousand (seed $ for her next Jeep maybe?). Yeah, the dealer probably made solid profit on a van they likely got from auction, but I won't feel ripped off till she trades that one in.

Right now only JK's with the 3.8 are seeing significant depreciation on the used market (at least in this area). One friend of mine nearly bought a modified 2013 Sahara for what he thought was a great deal...but after I smacked him upside the head and sent him to our favorite dealer, he ordered a 2016 Tank JKUHRR for $39k and got better trade value on his LJ than he was asking on Craigslist.
