Most body shops cringe when they here goo-gone. It is strong enough to soften your clearcoat. I use Rs500 paint prep from sherman williams automotive. It is around 50 a gallon, but it great to have around. Clean up spilled oil etc. worth the $50. A gallon lasts me about 3 years

Thanks for the info on the goo-gone guys. I won't be using it.

Never heard of such a thing. I've used Goo gone for years and my cars and never had an issue. Use it sparingly and you'll be fine.
Im sure if you dump it on your hood and let it cook in the sun for 30 mins it wouldn't be the best thing for your paint but otherwise safe.

Nothing about Goo-Gone, but I did see on YouTube to NOT use paper towels because could scratch or make the clear coat hazy or scratch. Use Microfiber cloth instead. So I took it is not so much the Goo-Gone as it maybe the paper towel. Kind of like the paint is okay if a little gas is spilled when filling-up. Also don't apply the heat from a heat gun in the same spot for too long. I was just worried that the paint was not fully 'cured' on a > month old Jeep.

I hate undoing Archer's work, but the decals should be on option, even no cost, if I want to delete them.

Just for the heck of it ill give my friend a buzz tonight re his experience with goo gone. Haven't spoken with him in a few months so it's a good excuse to call. I'm with you Mof... I've used it in the past without a problem but after his issues I tossed my bottle out, just not worth taking a chance imo. Since then I've used WD40 on my bikes and vehicles worry free... works fine.

So close - mine has been in my city since Monday but still not at the dealership. Hopefully it makes it there today.

It's good to see that they are pretty close to the date with your original estimated delivery date, gives the rest of us hope...

My orig. delivery date was 12-31 to 1-9. It then changed back & forth a few times but has been on the 13th - 19th the past two or three weeks so we are there. I have been clocking in early all week waiting on the call from the dealership - once I get the call I am out of here!

She is here! Purple Haze is here! Picking her up at noon & driving her to get her modifications before they close - decals will come off today or when I get her back. I have lost the ability to work!
