Re: 2017 pickup confirmed

I will be the naysayer. I give it a zero chance that there will be a 2017 Wrangler Pickup.

Where did you read it? I read in Detroit News it would go into production in late 2017, which would probably make it a 2018.

Either way, it should be interesting.

That sounds pretty cool. I learned to drive in an old Willys pickup truck.

I agree 100%.

As for a 2018 Wrangler pickup, 100% no doubt about it. I've already seen internal information on it. Being that production launch is set for the end of 2017, it's *possible* they could move production to Q1 2018 and bump it to a 2019 model year vehicle.

I heard about a "small" pickup coming for the 2019 MY.

Do you think there will be a non-Wrangler pickup too? Or that's just someone "spinning" what they think is a more reasonable launch date for the Wrangler pickup?

There are a few spy shots of a new smaller SUV that I saw, is this what you are referring to??

Am I correct in assuming that the chassis will be based off of the unlimited?

Also, are they just going to kick Cherokee out of the Toledo factory, and make it a Wrangler/Truck only deal??

There have been rumors of such. Cherokee production can be easily moved to the same line as the 200, opening up room to retool for body-on-frame in Toledo, thereby giving space to build the Jeep truck AND increase production of the Wrangler and Ram.

Milous, I wish you could simply confirm for me that I'll be able to buy the truck with 4 removable doors, a diesel, and a manual. That's all I want.

Then I need to figure out how to afford that along with the new Pacifica hybrid...cuz the wife probably "wont be able to live" without the built-in vacuum and the "are we there yet?" app.
