It wasn't rude at all. "Less appropriate" in this case did not imply "inappropriate behavior" or any other projected meaning, it has to do with appropriateness in using a forum whihc has lots of specific topics, to get that type of specific information.

This thread's subject and 100 pages of commentary, speculation, good information etc all generally related to scheduling, pricing, possible special editions, questions of the 2017 specific information mean broad questions on whihc there are stickies or related generally to 2006-2017 JK are very likely to get lost in 100 pages.

If it seemed rude to some, even though I did not intend it to be, I apologize.

I read your reply to her and it seemed unnecessary. A few people have called you out on it too. In the future just point someone in the right direction or offer help. People who are new to these forums can be overwhelmed by the amounts of information in them and often times don't know where to go for help.

And just for your knowledge, the JK started as a 2007 model. 2006 was the last year of the TJ.

Just kidding. Good write-up. The only thing I would add for the op is this: Be careful. Do your research. Buy from a reputable company. Have the lift installed by a reputable shop. You can really mess up your brand new Jeep by making bad lift choices. IMO, 35s are a lot of tire for street use, especially if you're not running a D44 in the front. 33s are a more sane choice for most people.
Ha! Yeah, you haven't seen them yet?

Too bad they only come in spinners.

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

I DID find the "wheels and tires" section. Lol. Anyway.. Yes I'm a newbie. I suck royally at all of this and I didn't mean to fluff anyone's fluffer. I guess ya live ya learn and sometimes ya learn that some people don't have the same heart as you. Doesn't matter though, I love this forum. Very informative and I love Jeep Garage ( I just discovered the app last night!!) AAND I discovered a jeep weather app too! Can't wait to use that!! !! I've learned quite a bit in the short few weeks I've been a member and I'll be learning for awhile. I guess I'll start every post from here on out " WARNING slow learner has entered forum..prepare to have your fluffer fluffed" lol.

I didn't think you were rude.

This thread is suppose to be about factory info on the 2017 models. Yea, there are some tangents brought about by speculation (mostly do to the lack of real factory info, yet).

However, very generic info, that applies to all model years of the JK (or to most of those years) really belongs elsewhere. While miss-posting is excusable for a Newbie, someone who thinks of themselves are a "Jeeper" should know better.

Lack of any info from AA really just means that they haven't even run a color test yet.

Given that Acid Yellow isn't even in the 2017 color brochure, it might be a while; a long while. I don't think there are people here who know, but are simply being mean by withholding that info from us.

I disagree. Regardless of the justification, the tone was rude.

What's wrong with just saying "good question. You may have better luck creating a new thread since this thread is specifically about 2017 model year questions. WranglerForum is another great resource. Search first because there are a lot of threads on these topics there already."

There is a nice way of talking to people. If it were face to face at a cocktail party would you respond to a question the way he did?

Besides, on this forum most people only respond to the model year and waiting room threads so it is totally understandable.

And putting Jeeper in your user name is not like adding PhD or something. A Jeeper is allowed to be a newbie.

This is one of the nicest forums I have been on. Let's keep it that way.

I'm here, I'm here. They've upped my hour to a ridiculous level, so I haven't had time to post much.

A couple test cars of any new color are usually run a month or two before they start production. I'll let the forum know when I see them. Until then I'm as in the dark on new colors as everyone else.

I never mention anything about user names. That's only your assumption, and isn't really applicable to my comment. Nice try though.

Here, referring to someone being a "Jeeper" is indeed a reference to their talent and knowledge.

Ok ok!! Can we just return to our regularly scheduled program already? We've totally gotten off subject here. It's all water under the bridge as they say. No. I'm not a jeeper. Yet, but neither were most of you. Y'all started out green behind the ears too. . I'm not a frog either, so..... No I didn't know better and yes the wonderful user who felt sorry for me and gave me all that info IS a true Jeeper hands down. And a very wonderful person and I will be forever be greatful for their kindness.

So there!

Seriously. It's all good. I check the thread daily, so I am entertained, even by the tangents. But I hear you, it's about 2017s. I suppose the lull in information causes our attention to wander.

On that note, I noticed everybody and their brother went D1 a couple of days ago. I would be interested to hear when any of that group gets an estimated shipping date. Jeep Chat is still telling me nothing assigned yet. I guess some kind of info will start to hit tomorrow with the Sept 1 official announcement, no?

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Ordered a 2017 Sahara Unlimited Monday, thanks to everyone for all the advise and information. Went with granite, black leather, navigation and a hard top. Surprisingly the dealer sent me an email already today that it had already gone in the D status and provided me with the vin #. He thought estimated ship date would be last week of September or first week of October. Thats fast. Can't wait! Cars .com build was right on with MSRP and invoice pricing.
