Has anyone been able to confirm whether you can in fact order chief or gobi yet? Also, are any dealers handing out brochures for the 17s yet? The one I contacted said no to both questions but didn't seem too knowledgeable.

I thought manufacturing wasn't going to start until like the 19th or so. Is this still the case??

I attempted to place an order for a Gobi JKU yesterday evening and was told that Gobi is not yet available.

Might be a stupid question but when going in to order, is that the time to haggle over the price?

When you order, it not just what colors and options you desire, but also a purchase negotiation. So, yes, that is exactly the time you haggle over price, and finalize it, but putting the result in writing.

As with any successful negotiations, you have to be prepared to walk away. Playing hard to get?

Go in with your check book and tell them if they meet your number you are prepared to write a check for the deposit right then and there.

Or just join Tread lightly and you get 1% below invoice with no haggling...have them build it, value your trade if you have one and get it ordered. No one here makes you put down a deposit, may be different in other areas I suppose? They know they will sell it if you don't buy it.

Thanks! I had no clue about this organization. Looks like a great cause and a really good deal too. Is there a way to tell if there are dealerships in your state that participate?

Most all of them do. Once you join you will have to get a Chrysler Affiliates control number. So don't wait until the last minute. Just tell the dealership you have Chrysler Affiliates number and they will know what you are talking about.
Good luck!

1% below invoice is far from a good price when Koons is offering 7% below. My local dealer came within $400 of Koons so I went with them because it would of cost me $400 to go to Koons and drive it home.
I prefer putting down a deposit, it doesn't hurt a thing and then the dealer considers me a serious buyer.

Buy where you feel comfortable at a price that is reasonable to you

1% under invoice isn't a good price, but affiliate pricing is a good bargaining tool. The dealer gets a 2% (number may not be exact) rebate from FCA on affiliates purchases and some of that should certainly be negotiated onto whatever deal you could negotiate without it.

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Thanks for the advice. I'll use it as a starting point. Dealers around be are tough to negotiate with. Just went through this with buying my wife's car. Two let us walk away. Didn't think we were being unreasonable either. Ended up driving 2hrs away to get the deal we wanted.

This thread has been so helpful.
