What state do you reside in?

Take your time and you can find a great deal. Wrangler sales are down compared to same time last year so dealers will slowly become more aggressive.
Good luck

This thread has been so helpful.
I wrote to seven dealers giving exact trim and options and one came in at invoice and the other six came in at 2% to 6% below invoice if you include varying "processing fees". In other words, one dealer offered 7% but included a $600 processing fee while the others had around $200, That $400 difference is about 1.2%

I don't hate car salespeople. They are in a certain kind of business model with certain norms. I just prefer to deal with them over email, and take my advice or leave it, you are better off never going into a dealership, and submitting exactly what you want to order by email, and indicating you are going to be ordering over the next few days based on their and a few other dealers' out the door total cost response.

I would not haggle or "negotiate" with a car salesman, especially in person, any more than I would box a professional boxer or play against a professional poker player. If you walk into a dealer 3/4 will start a couple thousand bucks high and you have to grind them in stupid and fatigueing exercise where they have lots of advantage, and the other 1/4 will low ball you, ie they will lie to you, and add things on. Then you will be subject to every manipulation including good cop bad cop silliness with "let me ask my manager" etc.

I would rather I be happy with my purchase getting my nice new car at close to lowest possible price, and he/she will get their smaller but more trouble free commission/spiff/volume bump, etc with the least hassle from me as well.

Again I don't think they are bad people, but just in a model that encourages BS.

They are in somewhat of an advantageous position considering there mere existence is protected by law in something like 47 out of 50 states. Very frustrating. In 2016 I should be able to submit a factory order without "help" and have it delivered but alas that is criminal. Lol

They never announced a date, just said "late availability"

You sound like the perfect Saturn customer. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, that sales model didn't work well enough to maintain the practice.

I'm with you. I have absolutely driven my self bonkers waiting, watching, and checking. I'm afraid I'll somehow miss it, like for instance, my luck, they'll open a itty bitty small window for Xtreme purple, say 24 hours and then it won't be offered again. I'm going crazy here.

That's what they did with Copperhead for the Rubi X. They, without notice (or even rumors), opened up ordering for Copperhead, and just a week later, closed it again forever.

Definitely interesting to see what happens with the colors. Once a Hypergreen goes away in November there are still 10 possible colors with 9 actually available at time. So will all "late availability" colors be available at the same time with one of the standard colors getting dropped or will one or more of those "late availability" colors only be available for a limited time?

I'd like to be able to see Chief in person before making a final decision...though I think Hydro Blue was the blue for me.

Oh gosh!! See this makes me more nervous. Let the anxiety kick in now. LMBO!! I wouldn't doubt it if they do that. I wonder if they try to get a feel of what every body is anxious for and release each color depending on the demand, then the least dominant, or least sought after color gets the ax and is only available for a limited time, THAT color would more than likely be purple. Lol. Or they just draw the colors out of a hat. Do eeny meeny mini moe. OR Rock Paper Scissors. I don't know. I'm sure there's a theory. Just guessing.
