I know a Rubi S.E. is unlikely, (the Hard Rock has that pretty well covered) but I don't have much else to do but read and wait for the MY info to come out while I work my butt off to get in a position to order one.

P.S. I know the Arctic wasn't Rubicon based but I can dream can't I?
Since you're hoping for special edition based on the Rubicon, my thoughts drift toward something more like the $60K+ Red Rock we saw for 2016.

I know I am being unrealistic. Red Rock was cool but even if i had the means i don't think i would do it.

I could not agree with you more! Most dealerships are family owned and have stayed in business over the years by providing good service and taking care of their customers.
Salesman are good hard working moms and dads just like the rest of us. They get up every day to do the best they can and provide for their families. They do not show up at work and think "who am I going to take advantage today".
Do they try to sell a vehicle for the most they can and make a larger comissioin, of
course . However , treat them with reapect and in turn you will receive respect.
I just ordered a 2017 the end of August and
did my initial negotiating on line. I let the salesman know I could go Costco, AAA,
FCA Friends and Family, ( all provide 1% below invoice) but was looking for a better
deal. He countered with give me a figure and I will take it to my manager.
I emailed him back and said 4% under invoice, he emailed me back you got it!
Come on in and will place the order.
He was happy, I was happy I felt it fair and
ovviously the dealership was happy.
I didn't beat him down, I reapect his profession. Try selling cars to make a living
sometime, its hard work!

Service departments run a separate P&L from sales, service departments are the "profitable" department of the dealership. Service departments even charge the new car and used car departmwnt for all work done. Dealerships can not survive with a well run, profitable service department.

Service departments donot care if you purchased your vehicle at the dealership, they want you as a service customer!
They knownif they treat you well, you may buy you next car their, but in the mean time
they are thankful your giving them service work!

Archer,
In looking up the info from Jeep, my dealer said that he thinks it shows my 2017 GC Rubicon HR Unlimited has been made. Do you know if this could be true?
Thanks

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Does anyone happen to know for a fact that for 2017 the "sound and leather" package really comes with the alpine stereo or not? My sales guy was confused and seemed to think the alpine had to be ordered separate from the package as it wasn't "greying out" the alpine option after he checked off the sound and leather package. I asked him "Why would they call it SOUND and Leather then?!" lol...... Needless to say this was a few weeks ago and I think I'm going to find a new dealership to work with since he hasn't gotten back to me. By the way, I'll be a first time Jeep and Wrangler owner. This is coming from a 20 year die hard GM guy. I feel like I'm making the right choice though.

Welcome aboard!
The Charlie Mike edition does appear to be sport based. I haven't seen any info on it other than what I shared with the group. There are some things about it that appeal to me, but not enough to sway me away from a Hard Rock.

I asked him "Why would they call it SOUND and Leather then?!" lol...... Needless to say this was a few weeks ago and I think I'm going to find a new dealership to work with since he hasn't gotten back to me. By the way, I'll be a first time Jeep and Wrangler owner. First of all congrats on your first jeep!! Me too! Well not yet but when that purple is released WATCH OUT!! But to answer your question, No. Unfortunately. Sound and leather is just what it says. Sound and leather. Speakers and leather. ( I was dumb founded when I discovered this) The audio with the navi is extra, it's called radio 430n and its $1195 to be exact. Lol. One thing I noticed when building a jeep on line is if I chose leather, then chose sound and leather, it was double charging. Maybe just me. I don't know. Anyhoo, If I was you I'd get an audio store to install it after I get it and I contemplated getting the 430n radio too, I realized my hubsy just had a radio installed in his duramax about 6 months ago, minus the navi, his radio was $500 installed. It's a kenwood. Same exact radio in my opinion.( plays music) Now I'm sure there's alpine but not sure what they cost, gotta be cheaper than 1195 tho!! I asked him if those radios came with navi and he said they did and he believed they were around $600 installed. Now that's where we live, in Kentucky. May be higher where you live or even cheaper, check around, but I will say this too, I have navi in my maxima now, and we don't get along. She doesn't understand hillbilly obviously so I never use it. I use my phone. So with that being said, I will get the 9 speaker package which is $995 ( I don't really want leather) and have a kenwood or maybe even alpine touch screen installed in my jeep when I finally get it. Save money, buy a wheel, I dont know, a couple of tires, maybe I'll buy a tow hitch which is also cheaper aftermarket that I'll more than likely never use, or an extra subwoofer. Hehe. Good luck and happy jeeping!

To answer your question, yes, Sound & Leather does include Alpine Premium Audio. Keep in mind that the seats are aftermarket Katzkin leather, and come in a dark gray, which may or may not matter to you. I personally would not choose that package as I would prefer the true "black" leather which matches the rest of the interior much better IMO. As to what Jeeperfrog had mentioned, the package does NOT include the separate 430 or 430N radios. All Wranglers come standard with the 130, even the priciest Hard Rock and there is always an up-charge to replace it.

This is correct. And to further the conversation - I saw it mentioned to go aftermarket for the speakers. The Alpine Premium system is a wonderful setup and would actually be hard to beat aftermarket for the price. The only downside to some people is that the sub is placed in the middle of the floor so you lose the cargo area under the floor (most of it) with the premium system.

That being said - if you're looking aftermarket and adding subs, you're going to lose more room from the sub boxes than the small amount of room under the cargo area. Just food for thought.

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

Thank you all for the responses. I understand the "Sound and Leather" package is just that. The 9 speaker Alpine with subwoofer and heated leather seats with 110v accessory outlet(s). I do realize I would have to purchase the 430 radio separate.

I haven't priced out a Sahara vs. a Sport S yet but I imagine the price will be close after rossing the options on. How do I get the "better" leather seats than the katskins? I always thought they were a good brand but I down own a vehicle with leather seats as it is.

The options I'm wanting are.
  • Power Equipment Group
  • Leather with Heated seats
  • communication group with leather steering wheel
  • automatic
  • 3.73 gears
  • limited slip differential
  • freedom top
  • side air bags (the seat mounted ones)
  • 430n radio
  • Alpine Speakers
  • LED Headlights
After adding all this stuff to a sport, it might be the same price to just get the Sahara?

I don't know much, but I do know the 9 speaker package is really a great sounding system. I have listened to the 8 speaker and the 9 speaker systems and the subwoofer is an awesome upgrade. There is also a you tube video on the developers' presentation of the 9 speaker system that I found interesting. IMHO it is $1000 well spent, if great sound is important to you. Actually, I was hoping I could live without the subwoofer and save $1000, but the sound is just too phenomenal!
