Does the dinoc give any hints of changes to HRR? I really like the current version and plan to order another one but am wondering what the new one will look like to avoid regrets.

re: 2017 Wrangler JK Information Thread

The conversation was "blah blah blah last of the JK Rubicons. Blah blah special edition blah axle blah 60s." Now, know that for the last 10 years I've heard " blah blah blah JK diesel blah."
So, I wouldn't get to excited.

Although, the guy does know axles...

Watch this pops up on Jalopnick now.

My only hope with this "new" Hard Rock (Recon?) is that the current price point doesn't change by much. I've had a few years now to convince myself that a 50k jeep is justifiable lol... much more than that though and I think I'll be shooting for a base Rubicon. Heck, I'm even having a rough time convincing myself to sell my '12 Sport....

I'm in the same situation. The HR was such a good option for me because it was minimally more than a Rubicon, optioned the way I want, with the added bonus of the bumpers and hood. If the Recon is $50k+ I'm probably out. In that case I might just lease a Sport S and wait to see how the JL turns out, after a couple of years of production.

Planned production of the Recon is 7,500 vehicles, starting in March 2017. A small batch will be run the month prior. Ordering will either open in early January or early February. Possible unveiling at the Detroit auto show in January.

Ordering for the current RHR will probably close in either November or December. Production of the 2017 RHR will end up being around 5,500 units.

Does anyone know how long "I" status usually lasts? My jeep is now in its third day of inspection.

Except for the red outline on the hood's "Rubicon", the Hard Rock has no stickers. Its all hardware. So if the Recon is going to have stickers, that by itself is major news, and not the good kind of news.

My worry is that they resort to stickers when there is little-to-no real hardware changes to show off, to differentiate it from its base model.

Maybe the axle change is in the other direction? Not from 44's to 60's, but from 44's to 30's? But it will have stickers!

Well, I also wanted the rock-trac, lockers, 44s, etc. But either way, same problem–production ends in December, while my ideal time to order is March/April.

Your Wrangler could have been selected for a random, more extensive, inspection.

You'll know that when you get it. It will have some miles on it, mud under the fenders, empty beer cans in the back, and the smell of urine in the carpeting.

I am just joking, except for the miles.

Interesting. So they plan to sell more Recons than HRs for the MY. That must either mean the Recon will be similar in pricing or they believe people will pay a higher price (if it's priced higher).

How many HRs were produced in each of the last two model years?
